We also need to take into consideration that once BRT will be implemented, wala nay jeepneys na musabay sa ilang route. as i can see, around 70% of the traffic is composed of the PUJs. dako na kaayo na na improvement sa traffic situation and also the environmental effect sa cebu city.

Actually 4-lanes ra man ang Escario... coming from the Guadalupe Bridge, 4 lanes then mu bottleneck to 2-3 lanes then inig abot sa Capitol 6 lanes siya but it bottlenecks again to 4 lanes after that intersection where u can turn left to go up sa Beverly Hills. 4-lane siya till just before you hit the intersection sa Archbishop reyes then it becomes 6 lanes again... pwede siya ma widening pero ma pahak mga properties diha.

Para nako, just build an additional road parallel to Escario. Connect the 6 laner road diha sa intersection sa Jollibee to a new 6 lane highway that will pass sa likod sa Capitol up through the hills and come out sa intersection sa JY Square.

With the volume of private vehicles and taxis (assuming dili na maka agi ang Jeepneys sa roads with BRT), I don't think a 2 lane is enough. It would be a step back and cause loads of traffic. Daghan na man kaayo private vehicles sa Cebu. We need at least 4 lanes unya 2 lanes for BRT so 6 lanes total. Any other street nga dili pwede 6 lanes, lisod kaayo i-implement ang BRT.

What we also need to consider here is that daghan vehicles mu agi sa mga choke point unnecessarily (meaning their destination is actually the next City or Town).

Our road networks are forcing these vehicles to pass through the main roads and mix with the roads that are used by motorists who are just traveling within the City or short hop from 1 part of the City to another lang. Included ani kanang mga trucks, buses, delivery vans etc.

If there were a way for these vehicles to bypass the main roads... they won't need to compete with inner city traffic (good example is kanang Mandaue Highway intersection anang AS fortuna all the way to the intersection going to the New Bridge)... a lot of those vehicles are north bound for Consolacion, Lilo-an etc pero they are forced to pass through that area and compete with regular traffic kay there are no alternate roads available. If naay way unta nga from Minglanilia for example, I can get on a highway nga ma bypass na' nako tanan traffic sa metro... that would decongest the traffic sa City.

Sakto diay 2 lanes most of Escario St. I was thinking in front sa Capitol na 6 lanes. I think road widening along the BRT route is already part of the BRT Project.

I read somewhere that naa toy plan sauna na circumferential road that would traverse gikan sa banawa to guadalupe all the way sa likod sa Capitol and to JY. But the big problem is that route is mostly residential and lisod na pagaquire sa land to make a highway.

it would be more difficult and costly to aquire those lots near the major roads for the widening compared to residential areas cos those are prime commercial lots.

Its easier to compensate home owners compared to SME's, Big corporations and religious groups

    - Colored green kay Elevated na' nga Freeway
    - Colored green with the red over it kay Elevated nga freeway along with a BRT or LRT nga lane.
i think usa na sa project ni late vice governor greg sanchez ang trans axial highway which will traverse from north of cebu to southern cebu in phases. it will be like the SLEX and NLEX. its expensive but im sure it should do fine kay naa man toll. and with the rapid development of northern cebu and southeren cebu im sure daghan ang mugamit sa toll roads. then i think it would also pave way for rail transportation.

Murag lahi man tong tran-axial highway ni anhing Greg Sanchez... that would have cut across the entire island of Cebu which makes the mountain barangays accessible unya mas efficient na ang farm to market road system nila. Kani nga plan is for Metro Cebu mismo.

I think maka benefit siguro ta with a business loop nga Freeway system. Anyone who wants to get from one point of the loop to the other just hops on the loop unya exit sa pikas end... dili na mu agi sa tunga' so dili na mu add to the congestion.
