i don't like the way things are handled...it seems sympathy has been showered towards the families of the executed... let us not make heroes of the guilty... let us not put the Chinese people in a very bad light since they merely executed the law... Ignorance is never an excuse, and let this be a lesson to other Filipinos...

Having lived in Hong Kong I believe my opinion to be perfectly valid. Mainland China is governed by an authoritarian system composed of individuals who have become so used to dictating to the masses that they cannot and will not entertain the idea of change or even accountability. Power is frequently abused and the little people have no way of challenging the corrupt decisions of those in positions of responsibility. The justice system is not impartial and therefore irrelevant. You underestimate the Chinese if you think they do not want to be masters of their own destiny.

bro/sis, why always blame the government ngano nisugal sila? yes, given nman jd nga kasagaran gikan sa atong gov't corrupt, but i think it's inappropriate to always put the blame on our government para nalang sa tanan kalisod nato as filipinos dba? in the end, those sentenced chose their own path, regardless of the consequences sa ila actions.

let's say wa kay work karon and wala ra pd ka naninguha makakita ug work (ex: relax ra kaau, nagstambay ra), would you blame the gov't wa ka kita ug work?

@reptoid: Hong Kong is a part of China but it is not China. If you want to understand the Chinese people, go to mainland China and ask them. I have many friends who are from China who visit the Philippines. They are constantly amazed by how insensitive our government is to the needs of the people. I have to tell you, if authoritarianism is as awful as you say it is, the Chinese sure don't care about it. They only care that this year is better than the last and for most Chinese things are getting better and better.

I may be underestimating the Chinese, but if you are wanting China to become a democracy just because you want the Chinese to be masters of their own destiny, I think you are just trying to impose your will upon them as well. With greater economic and personal freedoms, the Chinese are already the masters of their own destiny. Many are highly educated and upwardly mobile and many of them can travel outside of China. We in the Philippines are democratic, but many people are poorly educated and are imprisoned in a cycle of poverty. If the Chinese realize that the risk of democracy is that they might become like us, I wonder if they will be as enthusiastic about changing their system as you seem to think they are...

Is our justice system impartial? Are ordinary citizens able to stand up to corrupt officials? I wonder if you're living in the same country I am...

Actually Hong Kong is the best example because the Hong Kong people are proud, independent and self-sufficient. They have lived under the British legal framework and flourished economically long before mainland China allowed market reforms. And there is the keyword...... "allowed". The Communist party dominates even bullies the people, they are forced to conform or else face harsh consequences. Their system of governance is akin to dealing with cattle and if you don't hear many public complaints well, more likely than not it's because they are too afraid to speak out.

I am not comparing Philippines to China, however I would not consider China to be any kind of role-model. Phils has got problems sure, but China is not an inspiring place.

Ah well, OT na kaau ni. You make some good points reptoid, but we have different views on what is best for China. Regardless of your opinion though, I think even you can't deny the achievements of their Communist Party for lifting millions of ordinary Chinese people out of poverty and giving them hope for a better tomorrow.

Good point brod. I agree for some reason but try to think and evaluate my example.

Lets say nag kugi kah? In MEPZ 1 and 2 how many workers na-a diha? how much is the standard salary for an operator. Im talking about normal employee in general..

    lets say 300php Now, transportation - transpo- 50php, Food- 100php So: daily income 150php. For a Married man 150 x 30 = 4,500ph gross income/ Month brod
4.5k less: tax, pag-ibig, SSS, other loans... Pila namn kahay Net income nimu brod?

Now, lets talk about Mall employees like promo girls, etc basta nag work sa Mall like Gaisano, SM etc.. 80php/ day nganung wla mana gi minimum?

Other example sa Gaisano Grand Mall: During sa grand opening ang mayor diha nag ask og 50Million daw or 100M? lets say 50M? If ako ang investor sa construction plang sa building and the maintenance dako na kau og expenses plus ang labor sa taw?
Asa man ko mo bawi ana for my profit ( Return of Investment ).. So akong buhaton below the standard wage akong e implement unya ang Mayor dli nka palag kay ako namang gi subornuhan. Imagine 50Million..

Lets assume for a good governance: Minimum wage of 600 and other benefits for all employees plus overtime pah and strict implementation of law. Og kinsay mo violate sa law ipa sira dayun unya ipa preso ang employer jud.. Ang nahitabo gud dili nman ka mka palag kay gi sabutahi naman sa Mayor and political leaders og sa mga investors..

For me amu ni akong solution for better Philippines.
1 - Strict implementation of Law ( we have good laws in the Philippines )
2 - If proven Guilty ang Gov't official dapat convicted jud unya implement ang penalty if plunder then life sentence or bitay. ( implement Death penalty )
3 - Minimum Wage daily wage of 600php from ordinary worker bisan gasoline boy pana or basta worker sa company.

Mau ni solution sa pinas how to erase poverty " Increase minimum wage " solve tanan blema sa nasud. Don't mind the figure sa mga statistics diha in terms of economy. Point is, og Dagko og sweldo ang worker so tanan mka afford sa needs and tanan maka support sa family so wla nay mag abroad!..

Kabalu ko mag ask mo how to implement ani? My question is, nganung na implement man sa ubang nasud nya sa ato dili man?
