i have friends/classmates in usc-main who spends more than 10k a month. their allowance depends on how much they spend a day, though they're really rich. they own companies in cebu. they bring money and also their credit card just incase.

Php 100/day lang ang allowance ko noong estudyante pa ako (2006-2010). That means na Php 2,000 ang monthly allowance. And I can really say that this allowance is enough for a student. Kaso nga lang, taga-Cebu ako. And based on how you started your thread, parang hindi ka yata taga-Cebu.

If you have other things to spend on aside from food and academic expenses not related to school fees (e.g. apartment rent, laundry), then I think Php 5,000 should be enough. Masyado na kasing malaki ang Php 10,000.
