    >> follow the steps here:
    part 1 - https://www.istorya.net/forums/7111041-post3391.html

    Q. What is Nokia LIFE TIMER?

    A. Nokia Lifetimer is a counter that keeps track of the Total call time of your phone. It will show how much the phone has been used, and it’s the best thing to check if you’re planning to buy a used Nokia Mobile. But be warned, life timer can also be reset.

    Q. How to reset or restore my phone to factory setting?

    A. There are two(2) types of restoring the phone to its original state or better known as reformatting:
    1. Soft Reset is the same as Restoring Factory Settings (not the Hard Reset): Menu -> Settings -> Phone -> Phone mgmt. -> Factory settings or you can always type *#7780# (Doesn't affect software and data installed or added on the device).
    2. Hard Reset *#7370#: Back to Factory settings - all data and apps not backed-up on your computer or on a memory card will be erased.
Warning: Before you do reset the phone, make sure that you don’t have important data. Your data on the phone memory will be lost once you reset it. LOCK code is 12345, this is the default lock code for most nokia phones.

Go to Menu > Applications > File manager > E: (Memory Card) > Options > Memory Card Options > Format.

    Q. How to update the firmware?
    A. There are also two (2) ways where you can update the firmware on you're phone:
    1. NSU (Nokia Software Updater)
    2. FOTA (Firmware Over The Air), just type *#0000# and hit "OK", from the options menu select "Check for Updates". Also, not ALL product codes are covered by FOTA.

    Q. Phoenix/NSU is not detecting my phone, what can I do?

    A. Double check the cable connection. If still the same thing, while connected to the computer. Turn off your phone. remove the battery, bring back the battery after a while. turn on your phone.

    Q. I am getting an error "certificate expired'' when installing unsigned applications or themes, what can I do?
    A. Try to revert the date of your phone in an earlier date such months back, or year/s example 2007 or 2008. If this did not work, have the application/themes signed first or hack your phone.

    Q. Can I HACK my 5800XM? What are the advantages of a HACKED phone?

    A. Yes, there are apps out in the net you can use to sign them (e.g. freesigner).

    A. You can try these settings:

or you can take the back-cover off of your phone and fire away.

    A. Here are some things you should try out:

    A. This is another advantage of a hacked phone. Using X-plore (or Y-Browser), make sure the system files/folders are shown (Menu -> Tools -> Configuration in X-plore). Delete the 10275102.cre from c: private10202BE9persists and restart your phone. But if your phone is not hacked, the only solution is doing a hard reset.

    Q. What to do if my homescreen buttons are missing when Shortcut Bar is active?

    A. You can do a hard reset on your phone, or you can do this:
*You need to have your phone hacked.
    1. Using X-Plore or Y-Browser, go to (make sure SHOW HIDDEN FILES, SHOW SYSTEM/FILES are enabled) c: private10202BE9persists folder and delete file delete 10275102.cre.
    2. Restart your phone.
    3. After restarting, if they are still missing, just change your homescreen settings to Basic or Contacts Bar settings then revert back to Shortcuts bar setting.

Change your Startup Animation and Sounds
[NOTE: Your phone must be HACKED to do this]

Using a File Browser (X-plore) copy these files

    1. startup.mp3 to C:systemsounds if dir not found just create it.
    2. Then copy Startup.mbm, Startup.mif, STARTUP.r01 to C:resourceapps
    3. lastly copy 101F8763.txt to C: private10202be9

Now you need to make this file (101F8763.txt) that you copied as a read only file. Do this by highlighting the file & Menu files then click attributes, then just check the read only box.

or download the attchment & install it..
after that you can use the second attachment to change ur startup mbm/sound file.. After saving the file reboot your handset, On boot up the device will look in C:resourceapps for the Startup.mbm and C:systemsounds and use it!

TIP: You can Always revert the effects by Hard Resetting.

    ========================================
    CHANGING YOUR OPERATOR LOGO

here's how to make custom operator logos in os9.1, os9.2 and 9.3 and 9.4.
have a hacked phone and unhindered access to the Private folder.

in there is a folder called 10000850, this is where your logos go.

it is feasible to set one up for every network, i have 5, one for each major uk network.

before you throw your images in, you need to:

A: make your image in BMP format and then use BMConv to convert to MBM (or another mbm converter if you prefer).
B: get your network code. that's your MCC and MNC
    C: name your logo.

    Logo_234_33_OTA.mbm

now drop that into your C: private10000850 folder and restart your phone (some require a restart (n95) some do not (5800XM)).

    ========================================
PROCEDURE TO USE YOUR OWN FONT (.TTF)

    1. Make 4 copies of the font you desire to use and place them in a folder labeled ‘Fonts’.
    2. Name them exactly as:
    s60snr.ttf
    s60ssb.ttf
    s60tsb.ttf
    S60ZDIGI.ttf
    3. Copy this folder to the ‘resource’ directory on the memory card and restart the device.

PROCEDURE TO REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL

    1. Connect the phone in the ‘Mass Storage’ profile to the computer. Alternatively, you can use the memory card reader.
    2. Goto the Memory Card, it shows up as a Removable Disk in ‘My Computer’. (Windows)
    3. Navigate to the ‘resource’ folder and open it.
    4. Delete the folder labeled ‘Fonts’. Alternatively you can choose to rename it to ‘Fonts2' or anything that you like.
    5. Restart the phone, the originals should have been restored.

In case something goes wrong e.g. the characters are not displayed and so on, simply turn off the device, remove the microSD and start the phone. (You can delete the Fonts folder subsequently) Since we are using the removable microSD to experiment this process cannot damage

your phone. Also, while choosing a font do keep in mind the fact that it will affect the font of the Web Browser also, so please keep something

readable. E.g. The second font in the above list, looks ‘cool’ but will make web browsing a pain.

How To install FREESIGNER & HELLOOX for V2 & V3 FW

    how to use:

given that you already have cert, key at freesigner. much better to save these three files sa isang folder lang. note:before installing freesigner change your date from dd-mm-10 to dd-mm-08 or dd-mm-08, after installing reset/reboot your date to dd-mm-10

    1. install your freesigner sa memcard.
    2. run it and hit options, select settings.
    3. sa settings, tap mo yung sign cert and browse mo location ng certificate mo. same procedure lang sa sign key.
    4. after select both file, hit mo lang yung back

    =-=-=

    how to sign unsigned files

sa freesigner, hit add task, may lilitaw na browser to search the file you want to sign, doubletap>options>go!

the signed file will be saved sa location ng file na sinign mo. to check which is the one signed, yung may _signed.sis or _signed.sisx sa dulo ang iinstall mo.

    =-=-=

Note: If na-sign nyo na yung HelloOX nyo and constrained by certificate ang lumabas. Check nyo muna if na-coorect nyo yung date to the present, if

OK naman try rebooting and surely it will install na.

    1. after signing hello ox, install lang po.
    2. after installing, open hello ox under applications.
    3. ang unang gagawin nya is upack files then tuloy tuloy lang yan thru "do you want to install Modo", just select no. then magaappear yung uninstall me no, dedma nyo lang.
    4. may new icon na magaappear sa applications is ROMpatcher+, open file.
    5. may installserver FP2 and open4all selection yan. select install server then hit options(repeat procedure po ulit para sa 'open4all') daming selections yan pero eto lang ginagamit ko:

    a. add to auto = nakaapply lagi yung patch kahit magrestart/reboot ka pa ng unit mo.

    b. apply all patches = before installing apps, ihihit mo lang to to make sure that ok yung hack mo.

    6. install install na lang, pag cert error parin, may mali sa process ng paggamit mo ng hello ox.

VERSION 40 FIRMWARE UPDATE (SA WAKAS!)
NOTE: NOT YET AVAILABLE IN THE PHILIPPINES (waaaahhhhh!!!)

Here are the steps on how to update your TUBE:

    Before updating
    - backup po muna mga pafs, first and foremost using PC Suite or Thru your phone (just goto Applications> File manager> Backup). backup everything (optional: you can uncheck the settings if you dont want your previous settings on your NEW firmware)!
    - take note of your current p.code via NSS or check your current p.code at NAVIFIRM, it has the updated list of p.codes included in the update.

    Product code (aka p.code/p-code/pcode)
    - if hindi pa napapalitan yung product code nyo, most probably di po kayo makaka-update using NSU or OVI Suite kasi hindi pa available yung v40 update sa region/p.code natin. so para makita ng OVI Suite or NSU, change product code po tayo mga pafs.
    - list of current p.codes ---> http://www.nokiausers.net/forum/nokia-5800/23038-nokia-5800-product-codes.html
    - don't worry kung wala dyan sa list yung current p.code nyo, impt po is kumuha kayo ng p.code nyan para makapag-update kayo. you can use apac2 red for the v40 update

    Changing Product Code
*You can change your product code using these two apps:
    NSS (Nemesis Service Suite)
    JAF
the mentioned softwares are available sa Yahoo Groups (matuto maghanap! )
Note: ALL tutorials on JAF, NSS and changing product codes can also be found here sa FAQ's

    After updating:
    - you can either do a hard-reset (on HS, dialler, input *#7370#) or just retain your current settings.
    - if hacked po phone nyo, mawawala pagka-hack
    - paki-ensure lang na i-delete nyo yung PATCHES folder sa E:/ or MMC nyo kung maghahack kayo ulit para malinis

After a successful update it's STRONGLY SUGGEST that you do a HARD RESET para fresh and walang matirang latak ng previous FW sa tube nyo!

GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS ENJOY sa KINETIC SCROLLING
