then what you believed in is not based on faith.otherwise faith is not entirely a denial of observation or for a purpose of preserving a certain belief..and you are also practicing "faith"

faith is something that gives light to unanswerable questions..
otherwise we wouldn't have settled with whatever our beliefs are...
faith is even needed to get married as one does not know everything about the supposed spouse.
faith is even needed to formulate a scientific theory..
faith is even required to believe that God does not exist, 'cause the possibility that He does always exist.
