This alone raises suspisions on the 2004 elections. Why indeed would GMA reverse her own policies... we all know she has the habit of lying.. (I will not run in 2004)... but to change the government procurement policies to tailor fit none other than a Comelec chairman? What the heck is Abalos doing negotiating contracts anyway?

that is where the problem is. yes, FG's name is dragged into the picture...BUT what if Abalos just name-dropped FG? it is because Lozada did not directly hear FG saying those words, but from Abalos...and that is clearly called a hearsay.

are u paranoid on me repeating "perjury"? it is not an escape for me, but a fact. mind u, "perjury" does not only apply to Lozada but to all the witnesses called into the investigation. and that includes also to Defensor, Mascarinas, Atienza, Razon, etc...

what you heard is not hearsay. Meaning when Lozada said about what Abalos said, "Tatawagan natin si FG", "Eh kung ganun kayo kausap, kalimutan na lang lahat ng pinag usapan natin", Lozada is competent to testify it and that conversation is allowed under our own Rules of Evidence.

MANILA, Philippines - Authorities have uncovered alleged plots by al-Qaida-linked militants to assassinate the Philippine president and bomb foreign embassies, officials said Thursday.



Military chief of staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon said the assassination plot allegedly was hatched by the extremist Abu Sayyaf group and its Indonesia-based ally, Jemaah Islamiyah.

Brig. Gen. Romeo Prestoza, head of the Presidential Security Group said police uncovered the plot last week.



"It's not only the president who is the target, but also other people ... and embassies," he said without offering specifics.

Exactly why we should be more vigilant. All of us can make a difference in our own small way. You can too , bro if you want. Cause the way it's going- the administration is not showing a real sincere effort in fighting corruption. But instead is promoting it.

can u elaborate on that? im not a lawyer man gud. wat i think is that it is a hearsay based on the description of anecdotal evidence. BUT if somehow cguro corroborated with other testimonies (and maybe physical evidence), then it could hold water (against FG at that time Abalos was on the celfon).

but if u dont mind, if u can explain the technicalities to us further, that would be great. if not, ok ra pud.

u also have a point there. but we should not tolerate this practice anymore. this is not a long-standing tradition to look forward to.
if we wanna fight corruption, one way is to limit "campaign spending" and make a strict policy on "donation of campaign funds"...nowadays, even drug lords & smugglers can fund politicians...even the church is not spared by their supposed donations.
