My mom speaks Illocano. Used to understand it when I was younger. Give me your list of the Fil-Shams and I'll let you know. Trust me, I know if someone is mixed with Asian or not. I grew up around Black and Koreans... Black & Japanese people and we all look alike and WE all know people who are mixed. Here's a clue for you. If you can picture us next to each other, take a look at our features. Me, Willie Miller, Kenny Evans, Rob Wainwright, Phil Newton....I'll just name a few...

if it serves its purpose your very welcome to type as much as u like bro! hehehehe....

Many people criticized how Kenny Evans plays during his MBA stint w/ Cebu Gems, I personally think he can play in the PBA, u should just understand how he plays the game and not tell him to play a different way than he's used to..maybe a little tweak in his game would do...

OK, regarding those Fil-Am's, I'm personally wondering if Erik Menk is legit...correct me if I'm wrong though.

Eric Menk is up in the air. I hear his mom is Chinese. Ok, how about this. Back to comparisons. John Arigo, Tony DelaCruz...look at their similarities. Look at their eyes....now picture Menk's eyes. Do Filipinos have slanted eyes?

As far as Kenny Evans?? Yes, you do have to change your game when you go into the PBA because it's more organized and it's the #1 sport/league in the country. Alaska is a well organized team and the people above pretty much run the team. Tim Cone is one of the best coach, if not the best coach in the PBA. He taught me a lot as a player, team captain, father, and friend. It's a system and with the Triangle offense, you have to stay within the system. Kenny did good when he was with TNT. Coach Bayno let him loose. TNT was also looking at bringing me in, along with Kenny that year. My contract was up with Alaska, so Bill Bayno asked me to come and practice with them, along with Kenny. I did for 3 days, and the word got around that I was doing good with them and they liked me......Alaska didn't like that fact that we practiced in the same gym, therefore didn't want me practicing with TNT.....that was at the end of 2002.....Alaska offered me NOTHING, so I didn't play in the PBA for 5 months. Could've played for TNT, along with Kenny Evans. I talked to Cone several times and asked if he could play me and Kenny at the same time because we would do better then JayJay and Mark...In practice we destroyed together and when we did play at the END of the games, we did good. Alaska is very controlling. Look at how all the good players come and go with them. That should tell you something!

^^ I just don't like Jay2 & Mark play ball, I mean team ball...their game is more streetball oriented...

Well, your comparisons are quite direct to the topic...hehehe...I don't know how those Fil-Am's shams could get away with the law....Well, as the old saying goes "money talks bs walks!" hehehe

"Look at how all the good players come and go with them. That should tell you something!" < -- they let go of Johnny A who led to them several championships, especially the grand slam and he's even considered as the greatest PG to play ball in the PBA...

Last thing. Just wanted to clarify some things, so you guys can hear it from the horses mouth=)
-My rookie year, with Pop Cola, I was the 1st local player to ever have a triple-double, since Gerry Esplana. He did it in 95' I think. I had 11 pts, 12 rebs, and 10 assists. Since 99', what other players have had a trip-double since me....Imports don't count and neither does Asi!

-Was runner up in the slam dunk contest....lost to Rob Parker...so am I the champion, since he wasn't real?=)

-1st player to hold the "Flying A" scoreless. Yup, he had a goose egg. That was in 2000. He was one of the best point guards in the PBA by far!

-I was probably the best defender in the PBA at the guard position, but never got credit. I had to guard all the imports and did a good job. In 2000, I was 2nd in blocked shots.

Just thought I'd let you guys know a lil' bit about J.O. LOL.....you guys probably never knew about all this. If you did, good job! Remember, I was out there for 6 years, so I know a lot=)

You're right. There was something else going on over there at Alaska behind the scenes. That's how Alaska is. In 2001, Ali Peek and myself was traded to Alaska for Johnny an Poch. I remember in 2000 after we played Alaska, Tim Cone looked at me and said, "you would look good in a red uniform." I always wanted to play with Johnny and not against him. He was a good all around player. It's just sad how the business is.

Yeah, I play in the ABL in San Jose, CA. Rob Duat played with us a few times. In November, we're there's a tournament in the Bay and we are putting an all-star team together. Me, Kenny Evans, Phil Newton, Rob Duat, and another guy who played in the PBL, Francis Machica.

I think the news was there was a fall out between Tim, Steve & Johnny, maybe it's regarding contract negotiation, they couldn't agree to terms or they feel Johnny A can't be as competitive or dominant since there was an influx of PG during those time (and your one of them! )

ey, what's your take on alaska winning the championship last season? how about how Team Pilipinas fared in the recent FIBA Asia?

WOW! that should be competitive... u should consider playing back in the PBA, there's a scarcity for true PG's...
