I've noticed your shots since you started bai. I also follow your Google+ posts. I'm not a portrait photographer, I'm more into landscapes.

Pero I'm a big fan of szichri and nonac's work. And so far, this is the best post processing work I've seen from you. Keep this style up. I like it a lot. You just got a new fan.

I guess sakto sila uban nga composition-wise, there's some room for improvement. Overall, I say ok nani cya.

    Pretty model
A tight close-up is appropriate for this shot, cause you may want to highlight the expression and not the pose. I would suggest cleaning the line on the tummy. Doesn't look good on her.

Left image - You need to dodge a bit of the shadow on the tummy (looks like cellulite)
Right image - You need to dodge the legs cause its a bit contrasty
Both images - cropped feet not good..

I would choose the left image. But would crop it a bit tighter. One last thing if your going to shoot vertically take note of the barrel distortion cause her hips and legs are a bit big on both images. Again its natural due to your angle and it can be fixed in PP.

    Happy shooting!!!

Pa critique sad ko.. Want to know what Cebuanos think. Not really into portrait shots kay dili kaayo ko hilig moshoot ug tao unless "stolen"/candid but hinay hinay sad ko tuon kay who knows, basin naay oportunity mo arise in the future.

#1 Kani old shot taken last year during our really long road trip. Mao gyud pag sunrise and giganahan ko sa light. I wonder if ok ra ba ang lens flare(?) and the entirety of the photo. Points I think na might be bothering:
    a. dark area on bottom right
    b. head rest sa seat sa bus on the left
    c. bit of tilt
    d. the lens flare (thought mao ni ang ako giganahan ani)
    e. awkward looking right shoulder

#2 My most recent one, taken last February. Done in black and white kay wala ko giganahan sa colors.
Points I think might be bothering:
    a. tilt (constant problem gyud ni nko I noticed just recently...)
    b. cut off arm (her right)
    c. white portion on the upper right
    d. the angle could be weird..

Both shots are candid.. but I THINK considered as portrait shots but I'll wait and see for your opinions.
Sooo... what do you guys think?

sa 2nd pic, kinda gamay ang pic so dili kaayo ko kasee sa details but anyway..
    things I like:
    1. nice ang cloth, ga form ug infinity sign. Nahan kaayo ko.
    2. nice ang colors

    things that might be better:
    1. Tighter crop para mafocus iya expression, I want to see it. Maybe cropping the lower half off? Dili ko nahan sa negative space sa lower left. I don't think it does anything for the photo.
    2. Wala unta na putol ang cloth thing sa right side.
    3. Clearer or better clouds(?) sa background.

I wonder what the pros think..

Hmmmm..nag hulat ko sa uban mo critique pero murag wala pa man..so here is my take on this.

I believe your after for a photo-journalistic style of portraits. Well for me the first image quite sells the emotion I believe most people can relate to having traveling or being into a journey and I think its done what is suppose to do. The technicalities you mentioned is not actual that bad but it gave that photo its uniqueness.

The second photo does not say anything and for me this is a weak image.

The street style or photo-journalistic style photos implies emotion and has a story while the glamour/posed portraits implies beauty. I am very technical (lighting, shadows, background, etc.) on beauty and glamour shots but for photo-journalistic i look for emotion, composition and the story.

Just want to share a link an I think that might suits your kind of genre. What strikes me most is the topic about "Interesting vs Boring stories"
