Traded ANI also before, but saw that it was on a downtrend. Sold it on my cutloss. Gi-tulon nako ang losses. My decision proved to be right coz it went down even more. Ana jud na, you have to be emotionless when it comes to trading. If your plan tells you you have to exit na, dapat wala'y duha duha.
Grabeh ang FLI, 8.25% gain today lang. Grabe pa jud ang volume. This is one clear breakout if there ever was one! There will probably be a correction tomorrow. The jump was simply too big and too sudden. In any case, I'm still holding. I bought FLI at .85 coz it was a long term play for me. Bought it on fundamental analysis based on ATR Kim Eng report. Target price for FLI based on fundamentals by the way is 1.30. So it still has a long way to go. Been holding it for 3 months now, hehe. 22.59% na akong gain.
Sorry, can't resist gloating.
Also have AP on fundamentals. Bought it at 12.5. It is now 20.4. Target price based on fundamental analysis (ATR Kim Eng Reports) is 21 so its near TP already. Am enjoying 61.54% growth on AP, held it for 161 days.
Guys, I am a fan of technical analysis but don't discount fundamental analysis in finding good long term buys. A good strategy I suggest is use fundamental analysis to pick stocks and use TA to find entry point. Use TA also to be forewarned of reversals you might want to avoid.
Good luck to all.
Magpadato na ta!!!
Naa ba minimum number of shares required pag mag buy? Say sa fli? Pila ka shares minimum. Nxt month pa ko mag start. Ok ba bpi trade for starters like me?
Guys,
If you want a tip on a fundamental analysis play, here's my best suggestions to date:
FGEN - recently downgraded because of lowered profit forecasts so it is suffering from short term selling pressure but fundamentals are still very sound.
Current price: 9.64
Target price: 18.84 (based on DCF-NAV)
Cutloss: Set it based on your risk tolerance, but not too close to avoid whipsaw
Upside: 95.44% (sharo di mu mag-laway ana!)
Timescale: 3mos - 1yr (my estimate)
EDC - recent earnings downgrade because of higher costs. They just bought BacMan facility that needs rehab and it won't produce power and cashflow until after 12 mos.
Current Price: 4.5
Target Price: 7.59 (based on DCF-NAV)
Cutloss: Set it based on your risk tolerance, but not too close to avoid whipsaw
Upside: 63.58%
Timescale: 3mos - 1yr (my estimate)
------------
By the way, FGEN owns 40% of EDC so both stocks are highly correlated. If any of you guys here have an ATR Kim Eng trading account, just check your report dated July 13, 2010 for complete report.
Personally, 22% of my portfolio is on EDC. I plan to buy FGEN tomorrow. My other stocks currently are AP, FLI and FPH, all long-term plays. Just closed my trade on SECB today that I bought at 53, sold at 72 for 35% gain (big smile)
Fundamental analysis works guys.
Magpadato na ta!!!
Yes, minimum number of shares is determined by the boardlot. Check the boardlot table in this link: KNOWING HOW TO INVEST IN THE PHILIPPINE STOCK MARKET. Better yet, study that whole primer.
For FLI, the minimum is 1,000 shares (at current price level). But I don't suggest you buy fli anytime soon. It just had a huge breakout yesterday so you'll likely enter very late on the bandwagon. Try to buy on a correction. Or try my suggestion above.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with BPI trade so I wouldn't know about their online facilities if ever. If you ask me, I suggest citiseconline.com which is what I use. They have built in charting feature which makes things simpler. User interface might seem confusing to beginners, but the full features are all very useful once you grow accustomed to them.
Good luck bai.
Grabeha ug saka sa AP sa?
Sa katong naka-palit aneh last year, lukso2x na jud tali ug maayo. hehehe.
Just a question, kung ing-ani nga scenario, do you think it would still go up until 30.00 mark?
Nevermind bpitrade, ive read sa ibang forum na di daw maganda service. I think il start with col eip muna, 5k/mnth pero selected ata yun ng mga analyst nila. I would then move to active trading acct of 25k pag ma ok na budget
Yes, it is still possible by sheer momentum and eager speculation. But at that price, AP would be overvalued na. Unless AP's fundamentals change again, which is also possible. The current AP target price of 21 was set by ATR Kim Eng last June 3, 2010. Prior to that, the target price was 13.5. Company fundamentals always change, and so will valuations.
