Jon Barry: Sweep Prediction Wasn't Personal


Jon Barry has fired back at Hawks coach Mike Woodson, defending his prediction that Cleveland could sweep Atlanta in their second-round series.

"That's alright. If he wants to make a personal attack about what I've done in the league that's fine," Barry said on 790 the Zone in Atlanta. "I'm not in the league anymore. That's my job. I get paid to not be on the fence and express my opinion on what I think is going to happen. This is no personal attack on Mike Woodson, on any of these Hawks players ... I think they're a young, up and coming team, whatever. That's just all I'm picking. I'm not attacking anyone personally. If they play the way they played against the Miami Heat, they are not going to be able to win a game in this series."

On Monday morning, Woodson slammed Barry on the same station.

"Man, I could care less about what Jon Barry is saying. That's why he's doing what he's doing and we're doing what we're doing," Woodson said. "What he says don't amount to nothing. Again, I don't even know why I've wasted my words on Jon Barry."

With the Hawks playing so bad on the road, I just hope that games in Cleveland will not be 30 point blowouts every game.

Oh yes it will. Although they were not so bad in Game 4 against the Heat. They stepped up in that game to regain homecourt advantage.

Haha... pikon man diay ni Mike Woodson. Suko2x na sya kay possible man jud na ma-sweep ang Hawks. I don't think he should be refuting anyone's prediction. he should be taking care of his team instead of lambasting someone who gets paid for just sitting in front of the cameras and giving the viewers the taste of his "sports expert" credentials.

And instead of wasting words on Jon Barry, Woodson and the Hawks should turn the tables and win in this matchup vs. the Cavs. Pwede ra usa, at least. Hehehe... kay klaro man jud na kung ing-ana ila style vs. Heat, pildi man jud sila with a margin of 30-points.

Well, I'm guessing this is going to be another seven-series just like they did to the Celtics last year. Now that the Hawks' inconsistency is being publicly stated (thanks to Job Barry), this should be an interesting matchup to watch, at least at Philips Arena for Game 3 and 4, and maybe 6.
