Default Promised Land/ The Vicious Wheel

    An eye/ for an/ eye, a/ tooth for/ a tooth
    People /live their/ lives and/ die for/ this truth.
    It is/ justice/, they say/. For just/ice, they cry.
Take the life of another, my brother, then you must die.

And so it has been for thousands of years
A land soiled with blood, with rivers of flowing tears.
If justice was a raving beast, it will always feed.
In this land, sin begets sin and more heinous deeds.

Take what is yours, I’ll keep what is mine
Deny my birthright, Then by all I hold divine
I will take my steel sword and my iron shield.
Your home I will turn into our bloody battlefield.
I will take all that you hold dear and still even more

Far more than what you have taken from me before.
When you delivered my only son to the land of the dead
I will come to your house, there I will claim a hundred.

Forgive us our Father for your furious sons must fight
To declare what is true, to define our vengeful right.

This vicious wheel turns, it turns again and yet again
Fueled by hate and misery, the revolution will never end.

thank you for the comments. those lines are deeply rooted in the truest of emotions, no kidding. i'd been missing someone so bad and one day just realized that, well, it wasn't fair coz he didn't miss me. that's what triggered the write-up.

i'll try to post some more writings. i like your stuff, by the way.

    Another one...a darkness-and-light-inspired little story...
    _________________________________________________
    One Moment

    Aimless thoughts.

They pound inside my head like the constant dripping of water on the roof.

I cannot be like this. I cannot welcome thoughts of you and your fair face. I am of the dark, while you were borne of that obscene light. We are two warring beings, never to meet in peace.

You said we can conquer, we will triumph, because we are blessed. Because we have love.

    And I wavered.

    A single speck of hope.
    A tiny glimpse of bliss.
    One moment of fantasy.
    One.

And then truth fell on me.

    Darkness is my world.
    Despair is my destiny.

Love was nothing but an illusion.

Go back to the sinful light from whence you came,
as I once again sink into the shadows of my fate.

    another sad poem...

    "midnight woes"

by the clock who tolls its twelveth,
sorrow is once again made to stir.
laying me down upon my bed,
as night whispers to sweet slumber.

    hiding under soft avian down,
    embraced by this fragile sheet,
    my sanity immersed, drowned,
into the ebon depth of existence.

shiver i did as frost blew a kiss,
whilst savoring the lullaby of silence,
    well-acquainted now to solitude,
    praying for this madness' decadence.

yearn i did 'till sun gave up shine,
for your lips, for a kiss, a bliss,
a body, a soul next to mine,
of a passion entombed six feet under.

this touch that haunts my skin,
illusions of your existence in flower,
a mere empty embrace in the night,
a wish, unborn, meant to wither.

    poor shrivelled heart, i fear,
these tears wish not to end,
for this pillow i hold so dear,
will never be whom i wish it to be.

i keep my whimpers to myself,
    - cries of loss, of grief, and pain,
encasing romance in this cobalt shell,
a testimony to sweet sorrow, disdain.

the burning merchant of this agony
a shell of that joy had i become,
    smothered circumstance's lunacy,
now empty, how lifeless - undone.

i beckon the fates to leave me be,
that woe, with the wind, may fly,
    alone, hidden from this world,
calmly abandoned, in peace, to die.

    the pain of bittersweet reminiscing,
adieu to this moment, this instance.
my eyes grow weary of my crying,
so, to slumber i concede my light.
