watever unsa e-sulti sa mga taw, kung passion ninyo....ayaw mo padala. ky "misery loves company" ra ba! just think it this way...na stage lang ni sa cycle and in due time mo balik ra ang need. health care is the only stable market sa foreign countries ug dili diha sa ato-a.

hinuon lets accept the fact na mao ni ang time karon and one cant do something about it so far. so, if i were u guys...make use of ur time na magamit ninyo sa future ra gihapon.

Since I can no longer undo time, what I'm doing now is to just look for other career paths in nursing.

Right now I'm taking up Masters in Psychiatric Nursing. I have lots of plans for the future -- I might teach, proceed to PhD, set up my own clinic and become a therapist or consultant, set up my own review center and tap my bright colleagues to teach, set up my own training center (ALS, BLS, etc.), etc.

There are actually so many opportunities aside from just working in a hospital.

Right now the most attractive for me is to keep on organizing seminars for a fee. We can take advantage of the fact that a lot of nursing students would really attend seminars just to get a certificate and something to put in their resume. The seminar that we organized last week attracted 300 plus participants and earned us almost P40,000.

Don't be so down coz di pa mo kalarga or you're worried nga wala na'y work for you abroad coz as what I've seen, a lot of hospitals and nursing homes are understaffed. They even featured it on the news just a couple of days ago.

Always think positively. Nursing is a veerrryy flexible profession, you can work in a wide variety of settings and health care-related fields -dili lang kay sa hospital lang.

Beware lang gyud mo kung aha mo nga agencies mangaply, do background checks and tons of research. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I guess it's very easy for Pinoy nurses to go abroad, IF and IF the hospitals don't require experience.

Problem pod sa nurses in the Philippines is the nurses can't get experience because there are just too many nurses here and there are only a very, very, very few hospitals.

They can't also apply abroad kay mao lagi mag require ug experience.

It's like they're stuck in limbo.

ur point is taken...i understand. during my time ky ubos pod ang demand sa nursing pag graduate nako sa 1997 ky 2nd courser na pod ko adto. graduates from batches 1990-95 is the peakest at that time. wa ko experience sa pagka-tinuod lang. i only had a few months volunteership sa usa ka private hospital. to be exact 6 mos ra gani, on-call or reliever pa gyud ra na clase. i stop doing it at a point in my life and work for 1 yr. sa international telecommunication company. i thought i got no other choice at all...but then, i looked back na m heading nowhere....so ni decide ko take sa ako CGFNS, ask helped from family all over. i had the chance to apply for netherlands when the employer came to UV to conduct recruitment and just heard it from a church member of ours ra pod. so i grabbed the opportunity gyud. i got lucky and worked for them for 1-2 yrs. then english exams followed nalang pag work nako abroad.

diba same ra sad ni ako situation ninyo karon? d lang ta kasiguro as to how long will it stay this way this time. my waiting time ky 4-5yrs before ko nakapanukad. magdepende ra na kung unsay goal e-set sa taw sa iya kinabuhi. plus i never stop praying for my chances and it helped gyud.
