next time just call Johnny Air Cargo (917) 892-4704 and look for Jet. tell them that you have a shipment to the Philippines. he'll ask some questions regarding the contents, the dimensiions/weight of the box and tell you if you'll need to pay extra for insurance (electronic stuff). he'll also give you instructions on what to write on the address area. just have a credit card ready so transactions would go smoothly. it's much better to disclose the contents of packages truthfully because they have x-ray machines just like those found in US airports so anything illegal won't get shipped.

most USPS people don't know nothing about how the Philippine Postal Service works. they just assume that service is just similar to their standard which is far from the truth. that's the reason why they gave you a 7-10 days lead time for shipment. the package might be in the Phils within the given time but to have it reach its final destination is another story. don't use UPS or FedEx 'coz both are very expensive not unless you really need to have a document/package arrive in the Phils the very next day.

I know but I forgot to tell you in my first post that you can ship it to JAC NY thru USPS either priority or express and they'll ship it to the Philippines as soon as they receive your package. that's the reason why you need to jot down Jet's instructions re address area, box dimension and contents.

if it were just a couple of clothes you'd just pay a reasonable price and the item would've arrived in the Phils in 10 days, 14 days max. the only extra cost would be from DC to NY which is not that bad if you ship it thru USPS priority 'coz USPS international shipment is basically the same as JAC's asking price anyway.

I've been dealing with them for awhile now even before we moved to NY. imagine, I have to ship packages all the way from TX to NY and I would still save a lot compared to shipping it thru UPS or FedEx.

but the best part is, packages are in its final destination within 14 days max from TX to NY to CEB. I would gladly pay a little extra doing that rather than ship thru USPS international. the risk of losing your package via Phil Postal is way too high.
