What you can do?

In fact, as a netizen who agrees that the Cybercrime Prevention Act is dangerous and ought to be nullified or repealed, your time can be better spent on the following:

1. Read more about R.A. 10175! This is more than just about online libel - and even then online libel's already been recognized even prior to this Act. Know the real dangers and pitfalls, and arm yourself with knowledge. You'll need it for No.

2. Contact your House representative and tell them why you think the Cybercrime Prevention Act is dangerous and oppressive, and demanding of them to take action by repealing it or amending it as soon as possible.

3. Go to Court! The Supreme Court, that is. The Philippine Internet Freedom Alliance, among other groups, are planning to file a petition to seek the nullification of R.A. 10175. Join the petition, and let the third co-equal branch of government know that you will not stand for what the other two branches have done.

4. Spread the word! Use the Web! The Internet has given us many tools to communicate to various people to get our message across. Pick your messages wisely, and avoid all of these distractor topics. Keep on point!

Can Do: You can go and seek help from DOJ and NBI when someone hacked your Yahoo! Mail. It’s free and they’ll do something. They have a Php50 million budget for that now.
Cannot Do: You cannot go hire another guy to hack the accounts of the fracking hacker. The NBI and DOJ will come after you.
