My 2nd time to join Sinulog Photocontest and this is the worst:

Grabeha..dumog diay kaayo..maayo nalng wala ko nka adto.

Anyway suggestion lang, maayo pa noh mag designate nalng area for photographers. Something like a Photographers Pit used in fashion runaway ug different locations through out the route sa Parade para dli kaayo dumog.

I don't blame you photogs cause I know you will do things just to get that shot....its part nalang sa organizer to learn from this ..sige utro na pod mo next year

my solution:

1) Limit the number of photographers. (i.e. 500 slots only).
If the SFI needs to generate a certain amount of money, then mao nay bayran sa 500 slots. If it has to be 5,000 pesos, then so be it.

2) Shifting Crowd Control.
Naay steady nga mga police, tanod, ctws, strip joint bouncers, whatever. if kapoyon na ang 1, pulihan ug lain dretso. nya dli ni sila mu lihok gikan sa ila pwesto. And while they're on their shift, mamadlong sila sa mga tao right then and there. And they should all wear the same uniform so people will know that they are authority figures. if nay pabadlong nga photographer, eject. if nay pabadlong nga spectator, kulata.

3) Designated Areas
Ang photographer pwd mu sulod sa cordon, but only up to a point. I was a spectator at the Sinulog this year, and I saw that inside the cordon, there was another cordon. Spectators should not be able to get inside the first cordon. Mao nay gamit unta sa crowd control. Photographers should not be able to get inside the inner cordon. And dapat the inner cordon should be maintained until they reach Abellana. Kay based sa pictures, sa Fuente, wala na toh sila nga cordon. Nya everyone nga mu sud sa cordon has to have an ID. If walay ID, kulata.

Nanganad ang ubang (actually daghang) mga photographers. Mura bayag nindot mu take og pictures. Pasikat ang uban aron pakaron ingnon nga photographer sila. Pahambog sa ilang mga "tag-as" og "high calibre" gear na mura baya kahibaw mugamit. They think being a photographer is sikat na and gets all the privileges. PATHETIC IDIOTS.

Asa na man ang passion for photography? Picture lang nang picture aron makuha ang 1st prize? Mao nalang diay na..tsk tsk igo ra jud mo gipangwartahan sa mga buaya.

Ang akong ika suggest? Naa ra jud na sa photographer kung naa silay ethics and dili sila magpaka immature.

guilty ko ani ai... nipalit mi anang mga "tag-as" og "high calibre" gear kay dili mi kahibaw mugamit( i don't see the logic), gipalit na namo kay syempre kahibaw gyud mi mugamit... tsk. tsk. tsk. sorry po...

pero mao rasad ni akong masulti... it's not being a 'photographer' we think that it's a privilege, but it's the price we paid (1k) sa SFI and they are the ones who gave us that privilege or is part of the privilege of paying the required registration... even if dili ka photographer kung naa ka kwarta to pay the 1k registration then you'll receive the same privilege nga nadawat sa mga photographers during sinulog...

passion for photography will always be there bisan wala pa nang Sinulog, we will still shoot anything we see that we think worthy of being photograph... it will never be lost (kana kung tinuoray imong passion sa photography), if ikaw usa ka sa mga 'for display only' photographers then the 'passion for photography' is wala gyud in the first place and you are not worthy of getting the title as 'photographer', i call you a 'walking mannequin' used to display those blings2x...

i don't know why ngano kasagaran ni post diri is ge blaim ang 'photographers' when in fact ila lang gi sulit ang ilang gibayad and of course apil na pamasin nga to get that 'shot' and win the photo contest.

naa sad uban photographers mo post diri pirting hilasa mura raba og wala silay labot sa nidumog, bisan kad**** ra mo nidumog but still nidumog guihapon mo and still you add up to that number of photographers nga nidumog... stop blaming uban photographers nga ulo nila inyong nakuha sala na ninyo kay wala mo mangita og alternative place/angle to shoot... sa tinuod lang ang uban photos nga gi post diri nga naay ulo, kamot, lawas sa photographer if it so happen nga wala sila diha sa frame, it won't still win the contest...

partly SFI is to be blamed, i think part sa mga gibayad sa photographers is for security, crowd control, t-shirt, id and even paghatag og budget sa mga contingent as what posted by SFI staff sa 'sinulog 2012 official thread'... not to mention ang gibayad sa Canon for the sponsorship...

akong suggestion:

butangan og dako kaayo nga sulat "Please fall in line" and "wait for your turn" then pasayawon dayon ang mga contingents in front shoot dayon ang mga photographers nga nilinya in front after let's say 10 frames, next photographer nasad sa line, ang dili mo linya walay shoot... i think it will be more ethical and righteous kung ingon ani ang paagi...
