some of the people here think they know everything that there is to know about the SSC and the 3 political parties. It's just a shame that all the arguments of those against TINGOG can sometimes be bellow the belt. I hope we can show that we are educated if we wish to be respected.
If you watched the TC Grand Rally, you would have witnessed how highly esteem, dignified and intelligent the TINGOG candidates were. STAND and SPP were simply trading barbs.. tsk tsk.. bisag si Piolo gidawit-- Unsa daw mabuhat ni Piolo, mapawagtang ba daw niya ang Male Uniform? Well, who ever said that Piolo or TINGOG promised that? Kataw-anan.. nag pa ila ang STAND and SPP na wala lang sila lain valid issues malabay sa TINGOG mao na si Piolo, nga wala man unta nag pabayad, ni ari ug USC para lingaw2x sad ta gamay (ug para mu promote og environmental program ug mu apil sa kato International Students Night), hilabtan man hinuon..
TINGOG, pro Admin? haha.. what about
STAND's Ed Byron Monares and Loyd Sato having drinking sessions with VP Admin Fr. Louie Punzalan at Crossroads and IT Park? It's really okay to do this but at least deliver the goods, make good of your promises in the last 2 years. STAND prides itself of being the most influential, the most powerful but this should be substantiated by concrete action- abolish the male uniform, revive the Today's Carolinian Student Paper/Publication, lower the canteen prices like you promised in the last 2 elections. STAND was elected primarily because of these promises.
TRUTH ON THE MALE UNIFORM:
Some of you here blame TINGOG for the Male Uniform- - - Well, let me tell you this. During the
Presidency of Valerie Cordero of TINGOG Carolinian, the implementation of the male uniform was suspended. If you say that some of the TINGOG Councilors voted for YES to the uniform then I believe you are misinformed. Some voted YES but not to the MALE UNIFORM's IMPLEMENTATION but to MORE CONSULTATION WITH THE STUDENTS REGARDING THE PROPOSED UNIFORM, (there's a big difference). This was during the summer of 2005. Some of TINGOG Councilors voted YES to MORE Consultation with the Students since they also cannot discount some male students who wanted uniforms, and those who didn't. As to the distasteful design of the Male Uniform, TINGOG had absolutely nothing to do with it as it was Fr. Salazar's choice.
The Male Uniform Policy was supposed to be implemented in June or July 2005 but SSC President Valerie Cordero (2005-2006), after hearing that the Admin was to release a memo the following day announcing that the new policies will be implemented without any consultation or question, wrote a letter of appeal to Fr. Salazar on the same afternoon. She, together with Mike Lopez (now National Youth Commissioner; TINGOG alumnus), hand-carried her letter of appeal (signed in behalf of all the SSC officers) to the University President's Office (4th Floor Main Bldg). Forty-five minutes later at 4:30 pm, M
s. Cora, Fr. Rod's secretary, called up Valerie Cordero's cellphone (who was at the Office of Student Affairs at the time to make more negotiations) to tell her that Fr. Salazar read her appeal and decided to suspend the implementation of the uniform. So you see, it was not because of the rallies staged outside, but I will understand those who would want to claim the temporary achievement kay nag rally sila, syempre para nila, sila jud ang naka ingon and dili si Valerie Cordero.
But the big question is,
nganu ang STAND, nga nag sige basul sa TINGOG for the male uniform, wala man naka sulbad ani nga sila man kaha ang pinka influential and powerful? is this all braggadocio or panghambug? pang kampanya para makadaog? WORSE OF ALL, THE MALE UNIFORM WAS IMPLEMENTED DURING STAND's TERM when ED BYRON WAS PRESIDENT- NOT DURING VALERIE CORDERO's Presidency.
At least pag time sa TINGOG, na suspend pa nila. Pag time sa STAND after all the ra ra and the hype, they let the students down kay sa ila time gi implement jud and bisag suspend wala.
Bonus information:
Kay nagsturya naman jud ta bahin sa UNIFORM ug nanaway pajud to si.. ambot kinsa to.. sa TINGOG kay model kuno ilahang uban members sa billboard sa USC..
I'll let you in on some history. Just so you know, a STAND Councilor (USC-SSC 2002-2003) by the name of Johanna Chan modeled for the
NEW FEMALE UNIFORM during the time it was being proposed by the ADMIN (mao ni ang ga sugod sa tanan bag-o na uniform-- leading to the proposal for the new male uniform). And the
NEW FEMALE UNIFORM, the MOTHER OF ALL NEW UNIFORMS, was IMPLEMENTED DURING THE PRESIDENCY OF VINCENT SANDOVAL from STAND.
Furthermore, when there was a consultation with the Admin, SSC Vice President Eugene Manatad (STAND) and Abigail Vivares (from STAND and TODAY's Carolinian)
did not oppose the implementation of the NEW FEMALE UNIFORM. In fact, it was Abigail Vivares who suggested that the school should control the selling of the cloth and other materials since "other schools are doing it also," she said.
Mao na.. nya maayo kaayo mangaway ug magbasul sa TINGOG. please, check your sources, lest you shame yourselves more.
STAND WINNING A LANDSLIDE LAST YEAR
True, TINGOG Carolinian lost last year. First time in its history did TINGOG lose so badly. But at least they lost with dignity and honor. They might be losers last year but at least they're not cheats. May nalang sila, bisan wala kadaog, naa gihapon silay projects. mas visible pa usahay than SSC and to think naay budget ang SSC.
Nya naa pud diay koy pangutana. Naa koy kaila na amigo ug usa ka COMELEC. Nasuko daw si SATO na nagreprint ug ballots this year.If this is true, why would he get mad if he doesn't plan to cheat? His reasons were just so lame: maglibog daw ang students
(why? it's presumably the same layout but with a date and maybe other safety features) ; nya mahal daw
(that's what you call a necessary expense); and unsaon nalang daw ang serial number? (WHAT
![Huh](images/smilies/huh.gif)
) nganu gud intawn ma problema siya aning mga butanga nga this would actually protect the votes of everyone. Unless...
It is customary, standard in any election that the COMELEC reprints ballots (unless it's automated) to make sure that they have enough in case the entire population votes and to ensure that cheating, if any, is minimized.
Mao na ang big question is:
WHY IS SATO FUMING MAD THAT THE COMELEC IS REPRINTING BALLOTS WITH DISTINGUISHING MARKS? I wonder why.. ![thinking](images/smilies/ynew372.gif)
