D man must ang carbon, usually gamiton na if gnahan ka mu remove medications sa imong tank water. Ceramic rings lang bai, pang biological filter ba. Although it might take time for the tank to mature, gamit jud au ang ceramic rings.

Mechanical filter kai knang mga cloth, sponge, black sponge, etc.. pang filter sa debris ug hugaw.

Biological filter para himuon imong Ammonia into Nitrites, then Nitrates himuon ug Nitrates.
Ammonia kai toxic mana, ang gkan na sa mga wastes nila like leftover food, or urine or poop. Ang beneficial bacteria na mu grow sa imong ceramic tiles, rings, etc, kai mu convert sa ammonia into nitrites, which is still toxic. And naay lain kind of bacteria sa ceramic rings na mka convert nitrites into nitrates.. which is still toxic but only in very high amounts. Water change ra katapat sa nitrates. If wala kai biological filter, in time ma toxic imong tubig and ma irritating ug baho imong tubig, murag ihi sa toilet. And mka patay ug fish ug turtles.

Another thing about beneficial bacteria, mu grow raman pud sila sa rocks, plants, decor and anything inside sa imong tank, but ang ceramic rings man gud, dako kaayo ug surface area meaning daghaaaaan kaayo bacteria mka grow sa usa ka ring compared to pila ka rocks.

With regard to UVB exposure. Lisod and mahal ang bulbs/lamps. And mu expire after a year usually. 30 minutes to an hour under real sunlight each day is way better jud compared to whole day nga naay UVB light. Plus ang sunlight mka tabang sa metabolism nila, so paspas ma hilis ilang gikaon, meaning paspas mgamit nila ang nutrients, meaning mas healthy sila.

Benefits sa sunlight sa shell, mka tabang avoid ug soft shell syndrome, shell rot and more skin and shell diseases sa turtles.

Cuttlebone is nice, you can leave it on the basking area or let it float around in the tank, turtles know when they need calcium so mangita sila something to nibble on. Mao na mka notice ka nila mamaak sila ug bato, or other decor. Mu nibble rana sila sa cuttlebone once in a while. Plus, sometimes gamiton nila ug surfboard/kickboard. Cute kaayo tanawon.

ask lng ko, dli ma expired or rot ang Ceramic Rings? do i need to replace it like after a month or a year?
