You are right, contraceptives are not supposed to be a abortifacients, but that is not always the case. Instead of preventing conception (fertilization), it prevents implantation in some cases, so it acts as abortifacient rather than contraceptive. I just read that idea somewhere and I just want to share it with you.

The classical definition of the word “contraception” comes from the Latin (contra = opposed to, and concepto = conceive.)
The most common forms of contraception today — IUDs, low-dose oral contraceptive pills, which are the safest type of oral contraceptive pills available — act as abortifacients. abortifacients end the life of the early developing human being after the sperm and egg have been united.

Pulse Asia: 69% of Filipinos favor RH bill

MANILA, Philippines – Majority of Filipinos are in favor of the passage of the controversial Reproductive Health bill now pending before Congress, according to the latest survey of Pulse Asia.
Survey results showed that 69 percent of Filipinos support the RH bill, registering 80 percent awareness of the proposed measure now pending at the House of Representatives.
Only seven percent of the 1,200 respondents or samples taken for the survey object to the passage of the proposed statute, while 24 percent were undecided on the issue, the survey showed.
The poll was taken using face-to face interviews from October 20 to October 29, 2010.
Among the major developments prior to and during the conduct of the interviews for the survey include the mixed assessment of the first 100 days in office of President Aquino, and the release of Malacañang’s review of the Incident Investigation and Review Committee’s (IIRC) report on the August 2010 Luneta hostage-taking incident . - By Dennis Carcamo (Philstar News Service, Philippine News for the Filipino Global Community)

sa kadto against sa RH-bill, what do you think of this survey? moingon na pud mo nga dili ni tinood nga survey kay kadto ra inyu survey tinuod? maski asa pa nga probinsya, mas daghan mo support og RH-bill..

ang kasakit ninu mga so called "moralists" kay motoo mo nga kamo ra jud sakto.. di mo gusto tudluan ang uban kay nagtuo mo dautan.. what is wrong with giving the people information so they will make informed choices.. if they prefer abstinence, let them. if they prefer contraceptives, let them..

to the anti RH-bill people : do you prefer to keep the masses ignorant so they will take the option you prefer? that is sooo undemocratic..

    defend democracy! support informed chioce!

id like to correct that.. access to safe/legal abortion (subject to more debate)... and healthcare to those who had gone through abortion..

the reason daghan mothers mangamatay is due to unsafe/illegal abortions...

whether we make it legal or not. naa jud mag-pa-abort.. the least we can do for them is make it safe for the mother... it would also be inhumane of us to not provide to those who have complications after having an illegal abortion...

it depends on how you look at it...

abortion could be a way to protect the mother's life. or the quality of life of the family.. (Ex, sobra ka daghan anak)..

it may sound evil.. but its the practical approach.. unsa pa man imu ipakaon sa sobra kadaghan anak oi.. you cant even provide proper healthcare and education.. furthermore. pabigat ra ka sa imu mga silingan or imu mga igsoon...

prevented abortion, prevent unwanted pregnancies, be responsible, get educated. support the RH-bill
