This problem should be addressed in the contest rules and regulations then strictly enforced. Maybe assigning specific areas for each photog along the parade route to avoid congestion? Nice pics, by the way!

Short of saying only fotogs with Canon DSLRs can take pictures of the Sinulog parade beyond the cordon. All others stay at the sides. Not fair.

However, Canon should have given Canon users like those with recent purchase of Canon DSLR, lens or flash some freebies like shouldering Sinulog registration fees or access to grandstands exclusive for Canon fotogs, Canon jackets and caps (t-shirts for other fotogs only), etc. to set them apart from other fotogs.

Not only Canon DSLR users, any Canon user ( even printers ).

yah.. lingaw dri shoot sa dinagyang bai, dli samok, gamay ra kaayo photographers, we can access man while magsayaw sila sa streets but if sa judging area, kato ra ang registered photogs and per judging area ang registered photogs dli sila pwede ka photowalk or transfer from one area to another.

sge lang boss ato ingnon ang canon ug sfi ha tagaan kag area para nmo next year kara sd in return sa imong loyalty sa canon. Ato ni i take note note sir

I think ang SFI ang ng-organize sa photo contest dili ang canon. Canon is only a Sponsor, maybe nihatag sila ug certain amount for the prize and hatag pd sila ug shirt for the uniform para marecognize ang niregister na photog aside sa ID and in return sa pag-sponsor sa canon is na advertise ang ila Name which is printed on the shirt. Even if canon wants to give more privileges to canon users like an area exclusive for canon user, I dont think SFI will allow that since the purpose of the contest is to document and to produce the best photo for the sinulog event regardless of the camera used.
Kung next year mo sponsor pd ang Nikon or other brands maybe a sinulog shirt with a Canon and Nikon logo will be used as uniforms for the regstered photogs

Of course anyone should be able to join the contest no matter what brand gear you use. But they should have an area set up exclusive for Canon users.

Photo Contest is one way to raise their funds for promoting the SINULOG EVENT not promoting Photography

My point is Canon sponsors the Photographer event, so the money earned from the photography event should be spent on the photography event.

The Sinulog foundation shouldn't use the money earned for other things that don't involve photographing Sinulog.

Canon of course wants the exposure, but they support those who support Canon.

I am a Canon user for over 20 + years, so they should also give first priority to Canon users. If another sponsor wants to step up and sponsor of course they should give their users priority.

no matter what you do, you cant have unity and order basta Fiesta sa Sinulog.

lets say , ma control ang photogs, ang crowd diay dili man, so later, maki join sa gubot nga lukot ang mga photogs..
