now the Globe people are washing their hands... looks like the burdens just opened up a Pandora's box after all
GLOBE Telecom officials will not apologize to the Burden family for the Miss Cebu 2009 fiasco, saying they are also victims of the incident.
Jerry Yntig, Globe Telecom’s director for external affairs and public relations for Visayas and Mindanao, said he does not see the need for an apology because the company is only a supporter of the Texters’ Choice Award. He said it is not part of the production team of the pageant.

He also said yesterday that not only did the production team make a mistake in announcing the name of the Texters’ Choice Award winner, but also the model of the cellular phone that Globe will be giving as prize for the award.
In a phone interview yesterday, Yntig reacted to comments of Bruce Bollozos, who earlier said Globe and the Cebu City Tourism Commission (CCTC) should also apologize to Miss Cebu second runner-up Kimberley Therese Burden for the mistake in announcing that Miss Cebu 2009 Kris Janson won the texters’ choice award.
The family of Burden, the winner of the award, filed a formal complaint before Acting Vice Mayor Hilario Davide, who formed a three-man panel to investigate the issue.
The team had ruled that the error was not an honest mistake, as Bollozos claimed, but “sheer reckless negligence.”
Bollozos was responsible for relaying the name of the winner to the pageant host.
“In the first place, Mr. Bollozos has no personality to say that we should apologize. He is not part of the investigating team, in fact he is the one being investigated. We were only a supporter of the pageant, we were not a major actor of that event,” Yntig told Sun.Star Cebu.
“We are victims here also. We supported the event in good faith to add color to Miss Cebu but it turned out it was messed up by just one person, Mr. Bollozos,” he said.
Nothing more
Mao nga balik na sad ta sa dakung pangutana... Karon nalang kaha ni nahitabo o sige na ning gaingon ini bisan kaniadtu pa pero karon lang ni explode tungod sa mga Burdens?
an honest mistake or not, it should have been corrected immediately. if not during the pageant night, a day after, a presscon should have taken place to announce the real winner and apologize for the said incident. The problem is, it was prolonged. making the issue bigger and harder to resolve..

sometimes, some people (even myself) make this mistake. they hear about what happened, they think they already know enough to make a respectable comment. you sometimes need to really know what's going on.
