if he looks down on the Philippines, why marry a Filipina? Doesnt the Filipina represent the very thing that he detests? hilas hilas lang sya, kadaghang galisod sa America

you're just unlucky enuf to marry that kind of man. he's obviously one of those dumb americans.
i know a lot of foreigners: american, italian, whatever.. not all are like that.
some just have the tendency to feel superior, maybe because of their status, skin color, whatever..

Despite of your ongoing agony living with this "white guy", I would like to extend my congratulations to you and my deepest condolence as well. I hope you will conquer these agony anytime soon. You can't carry these agony of yours when building a new beginning especially with your new family.
    my agonies are:
    as a foreigner,

1.my husband think our best tourism is the girls, and that's why he came here, then he met me
I'm actually rolling on the floor laughing at this. But hey, that's his opinion. Just think of it as a sarcastic remark. If he was really serious, file a divorce right away (in America of course). You don't want to live with a scumbag for the rest of your life. PM me if you need help on filing a divorce case.

2.he doesn't want our kid to live here because streets are the playground of the children, basing to what he saw
Honestly, he's right. It's better for your kid to have a decent life, and US has more lot more to offer in terms of your kid's future than here in the Philippines. Also, it's an opportunity to build a family in the US.

3.our politicians are corrupt,he kept asking me where our 12% vat go
Again, he's right. I don't have to explain more.

    4. He laughs at small shanty houses in major roads, coz for him is terrible to see
Ughh.. I know, I hate seeing those shanty houses. GOD!! Why not the government run a housing program and move those squatters there and then bomb those shanty houses for good.

    5. he never rides PAL,or sea ships of the philippines
I don't know why he doesn't want to ride PAL. PAL is one of best plane I've ever been on. Tell your husband that most planes in North America have the worst stewardesses and they're old people. Me too, I will never ride any ships unless it's my own boat.

6.that filipino vehicle drivers are boang,no clues and never give way to ambulance
In America, you have to yield when you hear the siren. He's right, the ambulance is carrying someone who is in need of urgent help. Those jeepney and taxi drivers should learn to give them a right of way.

    7. hospitals are too far to be alive
I don't know about this. I think he's right, why rich people like Tommy Osmena went to Houston for his cancer treatment?

8.that ambulance brings you dead on arrival
I think #6 could answer this.

    9. that majority of us lives in 2 dollars a day
Most of workers here are paid on a per day basis while in America, people there are paid on per hour basis. But not all people here lives in 2 dollars a day, in fact, that only exist for people working in a low income workplace. How about those nurses, doctors, lawyers, politicians, actors, and all those professionals, I don't think they live in a 2 dollars a day.

    10. that everybody wants to leave the country
    Count me in.

    11. that government agencies is money greedy,he can prove it
Yeah, I had to give money for this guy who works for LTO to get my driver's licence fast.

    12. that majority just eat rice and fish
Ummm.. he could be right, but I don't think we just eat rice and fish from breakfast-dinner.

13.that we fight with each other
What are the reason of your fight? If you don't mind me asking. If this always occur everyday, consider divorcing him.

14.that we do not produce anything,if we do,no quality
I don't know why he said this. Some american branded products are actually produced here in the Philippines because the labor is soooooo cheap. They only have to pay workers here for $2/day, remember?!

15.that we suppose to have a very beautiful place but the government is busy in corruption
Isn't it true though?! We supposed to have a great place to live here but when Marcos took all the money, a huge number of squatters built houses everywhere, poverty skyrocketed, and put the country on a deep debt. However, we still haven't recovered from the Marcos regime and it's very sad. So in May, vote for politicians who you think are capable of doing great things for our country.

    16. homes here dont have grasses
Typical North American houses have grasses on their front yard and their backyard. If that's what he think that homes here don't have grasses, I'm sure he haven't been in Banawa, Beverly Hills (Lahug), Maria Louisa Estate Park in Banilad, and a lot more.

    17. and he wonders what country's future be and more....all these are present in his mind,i cant change it,he shakes his head to my country. i cant take it anymore, its killing me,its hurting me,i have been defending my country eversince. i always give counter reasons to my husband, but it just makes him see me as no clue too! now,im tired defending,in the end i realize my husband is true.im leaving philippines now,if i come back, that's becoz of my family.
I think the best thing to do is to respect his opinion. Tell him also to respect you as well. It's because he's the one who will take you to the US and have a better life there it's doesn't mean he'll just disrespect you and treat you like a slave there. America is not the 1776 America anymore, make sure to tell him that.

Anyways, I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your future. Take Care!

are you that cheap to live with that guy?

3.our politicians are corrupt,he kept asking me where our 12% vat go
    ahh how bout roads, etc.

6.that filipino vehicle drivers are boang,no clues and never give way to ambulance
ambot lng.. ako dugay nko driver, mopadaplin man gyud ang mga sakyanan.

8.that ambulance brings you dead on arrival
ignoy, pure. even US mamatyan sulod sa ambulansa.

    11. that government agencies is money greedy,he can prove it,
arent we all greedy for something... especially with money? LTO, mobayad ka kun di ka ka-agwanta sa kalangay... kinsa man ang kurakot o nagpakurakot nila ana nuon beh?

14.that we do not produce anything,if we do,no quality
arent furnitures that goes to high end hotels abroad a proof?

and so many.. what an agony you have. living with a racist in the house... worse, its your culture his nagging about.

he's a bit rude and blunt

    but he has a point

  10. #210
Your husband was right. He only express base on what he saw and observed while he was staying here in our country. He has a point though. He evn compared our country to his own country. Ofcourse you should be back here in your own country because your family was still here. I wisk you luck in your new place soon.
