yes, i know. but what i'm pointing out here is rebuffing your argument that CEGP is not infiltrated, more so not influenced by the CPP-NPA. This topic is not only Rachelle Mae. This topic is all about the circumstances surrounding her death. And the highlight here is because she belongs to CEGP.

It's a given fact that Mr. Casino still has big influence over CEGP as a past president. It's a given fact that both he and Satur Ocampo are leaders of Bayan Muna. It's a given fact that circumstantial evidences are common knowledge linking those groups to CPP-NPA.

well, im not pointing to his character as a writer. I'm pointing to what he said regarding Mae. There's a big difference there.

let me recall one of my experiences katong nag BMI mi nad2 sa mingla, na.ay civilian na daghan kaayo og pangutana unsa amo gibuhat namo nad2, ngano nanudlo mi og art art and etc... blah blah, pero sarcastic akong tubag pirme, then as i've noticed daghan choi choi with the same tupi na nag tutok nako, ako gi observahan iyang kamot, then ako nakit-an ang iyang PMA ring. then mura napungot manto kay ako raman gi tubag tanan niya pangutan.a straight to the point diretso, ni kalit raman og sulti "activista ka bai, klaro kaayo bantay bantay lang"

when u r an activist going to those places infested w/ NPAs, the military (including civilians) will always doubt ur true intentions. Labi na nga murag wierd rasab kaau manudlo ug art art to a poor community that thinks it is the least of their priority. Coz IMHO, their priorities are NEEDS, not wants. But I know ur intentions are good.

yes, i also know that activists are not always equated w/ communism but more so on left-leaning ideals, their relationships w/ leftist partylist groups, and so on and forth. We can't also blame the military doubting especially if your group like LFS and CEGP is being branded as NPA infiltrated.

"Bantay-bantay lang kay daghan og NPA sa lugar" is not in any way a threat but an info and at the same time a warning that the place is infested w/ NPAs. that's true. even a common folk could say that to u. it could also mean that if ever naay mahitabo ninyo, u go at ur own risk. Coz the military can't always protect u at all times especially kung naay crossfires.

Mae-Mae's untimely demise reminds the Guild all too painfully of the same fate that another CEGP alumna suffered under the hands of the AFP.

In April 2002, Benjaline 'Beng' Hernandez, former CEGP Vice-President for Mindanao and a human rights volunteer, was murdered by the military while conducting a fact-finding mission in Cotabato province. Investigations revealed that the AFP, after wounding Beng, raped and shot her at close range. The AFP later on insisted that Beng was an NPA rebel.
This is what i hate about this activists, they only made accusation without evidence. such a shame for them.

hehehe.. korek... lefties, activist og mga idealist, daghan kay'g yaw2x pero way buhat, huna2x ray gadako. They're just like the people and the government that they want to remove/change, only that they're on the other side.. ..
Pero only a few of them or maybe none of them knows exactly what they're doing..
mind you everything you do is based on your idealism.

ang problema man gud karon is if you stick to your beliefs and go against the system, you are either branded as a leftist or a trouble maker. ang mga idealistic karon are being ostracized by the society. lisod kaayo mag idealistic karong panahona, ang mga tawo gusto lang mosunod sa mainstream, follow the flow, sakay-sakay. they probably thought that it's the best way.

If you are a young person, and you managed to see this situation very clearly, on your own, using your own powers of observation and analysis, then I salute you. The question now is, what are you going to do about it--will you also "go with the flow" or "stick to your own beliefs"? Why do I ask this question? Because this question, once answered, will determine the outcome of your life in the next 10 years. But you seem to be a very clever and perceptive person, so I don't think you will have any trouble with life. Great post.
