    WHY?!
m a nurse and has been working for 5yrs now dri sa US....its hard this time, infact pretty hard for all of us. Not a gud suggestion but if people want to risk it, then lets give them their chance. however, ayaw mo expect larga mo daun unless....bantugan na ka sa field that u hold YRS of experience para ma process imo work permit that will just take 4-6mos sa embassy.

kaning kalisod karon ky di ra man sa US and its a domino effect to the other parts of the world. wat is just different sa australia n NZ is naa sila pondo and regulated ila pagpagawas kwarta for support sa ila nationals. bahala ug nimahal sad sila as part sa effect but sure ang ila economy na working within sa ila limits. ang US karon ky as in HUROT ang reserve and bomerang namo balik taxpayers...

    NURSES....think and think real hard!!!!

the problem lang pod if they will go with the working permit route is that, kung dili ma lift ang retrogression after ma expire ila work permit, unsa na lang ila status? I know, ang work permit is only for specialist nurses or for those with masteral ba na, but at any rate, once there in US, they can only adjust their status once the VB is current but with what happened last year where they was a huge influx of applications due to them making VB current allowing hundreds of thousands already in US to adjust status, there is no way the VB will be current in the next couple of years. It's risk indeed if you go through this route . . . if you plan to work their until your work permit expires then fine, but if you plan for long term, then I think, nurses should think lots of times before considering anything......

going the H visa-route is NOT a risk. it may be more costly because you pay for the processing of the H visa and pay again for the processing of your green card.

the only downside is more possible expense on your part but it beats waiting for uncertainty while in the philippines because of retrogression. a working visa, if you will be included in the electronic lottery, will only take 4 months to process. a working visa has a maximum length of 3 years and renewable for another 3 and you can apply for green card as soon as you set foot in the US because it is a dual intent visa so even before your 6 years is up, you will get your green card already and the good thing is even if your 6 years is up but the green card is already being adjudicated, you can file for extension on yearly increments.

according to the USCIS website, an H visa is the fastest and most convenient way of being an immigrant.

the US economy is currently in bad shape, so i dont know if you still want to come here heehheehe.
as for the nurses being too over populated

its partly the fault of students, who has no aspirations/dreams of their own, dont ever follow trend... unless your passion

nurses are people who love to help the needy, its a passion to serve the helpless... money should not be the main motivation.. that's where most of the student failed to recognize when taking up this course.

that's why they end-up jobless or un-employed, because they lack the dream, the determination, and the will.
