ako hilig ko ug knives, actually nag sugod ko ug pang luto. didto ni sugod akong quest to acquire the best ketchen knives. ni sugod ko ug mac knives from japan. pero ang durability mo minus samtang nag ka taas ang edad sa knife. so ni balhin ko ug JA hanckels. hangtud karon mao pa gihapon na ang brand akong gamit. pero mag bantay mo kay naay made in china (bad and cheap knives) ang palita kadtong made is spain. after ana ni collect na lang pud ko ug survival knives like gerber parang machete ug cold steel ka bar machete. pareha ra sila ug application and both are very good. pero sa mga hunting knives na akong na gamit ang gerber dmf series ang akong favorite. usually mo grade ko ug knives by how much they can hold sa ilang sharpness or edge and gerber has a little edge among hunting knives and hankels sa kitchen. pero naka suway pud ko ug wusthof kitchen knifes, maayo gihapon iyang edge pero ang weight or handles niya dili mo angay sa akong kamot.

    another tool for troubleshooting...

problem is the rubberized coating doesn't do well in our tropical weather
and handling it becomes a stick situation

    also my walking cane...

by the way... it carries with it 16 inches of hurt...

The only blade I have as of now is a fully sharpened Japanese Shirasaya Katana 27inches of 1050steel, full tempered, waterquenched. I'm planning to have a knife custom made sa basak puhon. anyone has any idea how much it would cost? I also have this cheap utility knife I bought in Gaisano. it comes with a spoon, a fork and a cork opener.

here are some pics of my Shirasaya.

@ Abortretryfail: I'm planning to have the blade mounted soon pero mahal ang tsuka, saya, ug mga koshirae (mountings) gud. mu gasto napud ka ug around 5-6k. tsuka alone costs around 3-4k. worried sad ko if pa buhatan nako ug new saya, basin dili maau ang fit and it might ruin the blade. ang akong gipasabot nga naa sa basak kay kana naa sa basak, pardo. ga laray ng mga blacksmith diha..
