Davao is like the mini Philippines during the Marcos dictatorship. small time though, coz he goes after small time crooks. Marcos went after the big guns and sent them to prison. This is how this country is supposed to be ruled. with an iron fist! ever wondered why there are less pinoys in jail abroad specially in the US and Europe? they are afraid of the cops. imagine NO Padrinos and NO Kumpares Politicos that will save their @sses! and NO Bribery too. In this country influential civilians shout and insult cops on a daily basis. and in my travels abroad, i've never seen a pinoy beggar. unlike here, they are everywhere! they all work so hard out there. not unlike those lazy beer bellied, half naked tambays you see here. the laws here needs bigger teeth! we should stop the "UTANG NA LOOB" attitude for it will lead us nowhere! even the presidents term is not enough to pay all his utang na loob to those people who helped him win his title. not enough gov't positions to accommodate all the padrinos. :P

The problem with killing small time criminals is it doesn't solve anything. Going after corruption, lack of education/jobs is the right way to improve ones society. Not summarily executing people you deem less important/crooks.

Majority of people here also has this notion that prisons are only there lock people up. Prisons should also be used to rehabilitate criminals so that when they go out, they would be less likely to commit crimes again.

No where in my post did I say that I sympathize with the criminals. Just because you can't think of a better way to handle crime in your city doesn't make it okay to kill every other crook that you see in the street. If Duterte is really interested in reducing crime, why not push and find legit ways on how to do it?

Here's how you do it:
Better education
More jobs
Longer jail time or harsher punishments
Bigger bail for repeat offenders
I can think of a lot of non barbaric ways on how to make a city safe.

You're probably Catholic and go to church every sunday, believe in the 10 commandments, love thy neighbor and all that jazz kind of person, then why the hell are you okay with summary executions?

It's really funny that majority of the posters of this thread are Christians, but have no problem with letting other people die just so they can feel safe.

I agree with @gotnowheels that we need due-process to curb crime and not vigilantes.

sa Davao ra jud ko maka seatbelt mag drive... Maskin traffic pero istricto ilang bala.od sa dalan.. Wala pa sad ko kita ug driver nga nanabako... G.implement jud nila..
