if we're talking prime MJ playing with the current rules, labaw pa nah siya sa iyang 30+ career PPG. Contact that would be deemed as flagrant karun are normal fouls back then (80's to mid 90s) and anybody who has been following the NBA for over 20 years will attest that the current rules DO somewhat impair the defense relative to previous standards (see paint rules). A slight contact while on drive, defensive foul dayun. This was not true sauna.

you make it sound like Jordan being guarded by Gary Payton and still being able to shoot 41.5% is a trivial thing.

Also, Kobe and MJ are similar role players, but MJ is better at it. nuff said. Defensively and offensively, MJ is better--and that is supported by numbers.

but the thing is, dli ta makaingon daun na he would average 50ppg that is totally absurd,imo.

well here's the case why:

today's era is more athletic, yep by far. Defense seems worse today because players have become so much more developed than 20-30 years ago. Players today are more athletic, and more skilled. No player back then could shoot like they can today, none can score like they can today, none can dribble like they can today. I don’t mean any offense to those players back in the day, but it is a young sport and it has developed alot, even since the time of Jordan. that being said if jordan plays today he wouldn't score 50ppg. why? drose and deng is on his team... he will be guarded a guy like lebron, howard who are freak athletes.

so the fact here is, if he plays today kobe and mj has no any differences at all... well, maybe mj's "48" inch vertical might score him a little than kobe. but kobe is a better shooter than him so how will mj score 50 a game?

imagine if kobe or even lebron (i don't even like the guy) plays back then? will mj will still get the same attention of course no. because he didn't shared any spotlight. unlike now so that's why some of mj fans overrates and hyped him.
