i know a lot of people who are married to foreigner husbands.

I've talked to these husbands and asked them similar questions.
their response is that, they don't care about the looks --- they know filipinas as a race of being family oriented. So they marry a filipina (no matter how ugly), to be their partner till their last day. Someone who can look after them and their children. That way, they know that their children are in good hands when they leave this earth.

It's quite understandable.

Let's not be so shallow to judge them and say "ganahan ra na sila ug fresh, exotic brown girls!". Let's read between the lines, shall we?
