BTW, OT. Whatever happened to that high DPWH official who had a picture showing him inspecting a damaged portion of the seawall along Roxas Blvd. after a typhoon, but later on it was found out that the photo was photoshopped?

EDSA 1 concluded peacefully not because of cory, the priests or the nuns. It was bec. of marcos who refused to give the order to fire.

An excerpt from the book -In My Time by former US Vice President Dick Cheney.

"AS WE MONITORED EVENTS in Panama throughout the fall of 1989, we were also dealing with a potential coup in the Philippines. On November 30 we started getting reports that rebels opposed to the rule of Corazon Aquino had seized air bases belonging to the Filipino government. We also received a request from President Aquino to bomb the rebel positions. I did not believe we should agree to do this-nor did General Powell. For one thing, President Aquino made it clear she would publicly deny having made the request. Asking the United States to bomb Filipino citizens, even if they were rebels, would not go well inside her own country"--So much for the Saint Cory Aquino!!

A dictator who refused to slaughter protesting civilians vs a "saint" who was responsible for the massacre of protesting farmers.

    Hmmm....

My father would always, always remind us: The Mendiola Massacre must not be forgotten. He never told us why. Just one thing: my father was a farmer before he came to Cebu.

The beginning of rolling blackouts, power shortage, welga ng bayan and the steep slide to the bottom...

Katawa nalang si Lee Kuan Yew o..

People only have power if they have good paying job/livelihood. We need economic progress not a fake democracy created by the oligarchs and selfish politicians for themselves.

Through economic success, we get real power.

Gi demonize sa media si marcos but the media conveniently left out the part of marcos's refusal to massacre the civilians. I used to hate the marcoses before and praise the aquinos but everything changed when I stopped relying on our mainstream media.

I don't think she was responsible for that, but maybe she should be held responsible for covering it up and protecting the people involved.

Mao nah, Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So if our current president is begging for absolute power, we know aha na padung.
