i kind of agree w/ you sir, to play around w/ words, yes the soul is subjective like a "home"
in the phenomenal world it cannot be appreciated in its own substance but in relation to something,,a vehicle to express,,now as to whether it exist if the body expires,,
that remains to be seen

Way to go, LC! You're in it. Let's just fine tune some information to make it clearer. You see we have
Three Systems of Human Perception known to us being functioning in either, both or even in the three of them namely
EMPIRICISM, RATIONALISM, and FAITH but none of any human being with a normally functional mind can claim that have at least one.
Now to the brief definitions;
Perception is the ability to apprehend things either by response or reaction.
EMPIRICISM is a kind of human perception that relies on at least one of the five senses we have (SMELL, TASTE, VISION (SEEING), FELL (TOUCH), HEARING) in order to respond or react on certain phenomenon. We use this almost everytime we come to our consciousness in the any part of our waking day.
RATIONALISM then is the kind of human perception that relies on facts and/or logical evidence in order to respond or react on certain phenomenon. Our education systems often requires us to use this.
FAITH now is the kind of human perception that relies on the veracity or the trustworthiness of the object. We exercise this even as early as during our "suckling" toddler days namely when Mom gives us food we take it because she is trustworthy enough that she will not poison us with. Also that during our toddler education we are told by mom that there is a place full of ice called the North Pole we believe that because the mom is trustworthy enough that she will not misinform us even though we have not seen the place yet.
If you want to see SOUL you cannot. Yet Faith can explain it even if it is not seen. The Bible says
"NOW FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN" Hebrews 11:1
Faith then is the most fundamental human perspective we have used and exercised and our most vital important tool in understanding Spiritual Phenomena NOT BECAUSE I AM TRUSTWORTHY ENOUGH, BUT BECAUSE GOD IS TRUSTWORHTY AND HIS TRUTH (BIBLE) IS TRUSTWORTHY ENOUGH.
FAITH is also a form of exact science. The only difference is that the previous two used physical circumstances and phenomena as specimens yet the latter uses things cannot be seen but can be explain. The first two uses books (science, mathematics, etc) the latter uses a Book (The Bible).
If you take it from me, I might misinform you. But this is not about me, it's about Him who created the whole world around us and gives life to you and me. If you are a believer, let the Holy Spirit confirm this truth into your heart (mind). And if your are not the only system of perception left for you to exercise is FAITH since the first two cannot be applicable.
And it's a matter of choice, whether you believe it or not. IF YOU BELIEVE IT YOU EXERCISE FAITH.
