here's the thing about using High-Def films. if you won't be developing them on your own and have it developed through a lab, chances are you won't be taking advantage of it's quality.
pnoize2k7, really? have you tried developing your own color film? HD films from Kodak are not considered with Pro qualities anyway. I don't understand why you have to develop it on your own to get its quality.
Ian: yes, I have. Since I run a printing company, I used to have access to both lithographic and photographic chemicals and also a darkroom.
HD is not considered Pro film? my bad then...
However, a lot of times, commercial photo labs in the philippines don't maintain their equipment so rollers get dirty or colors don't come out right. I had a 120 and a 135 roll developed and my negatives ended up with scratches, on the same day.
What I do for my negatives now, is either I send it to a custom photo lab or a trusted photo lab in Cebu.
Ok so Chrysley should send it to a pro lab then. I just didn't understand the quote of why is there a need to develop his own HD films to get quality result. Sure you can process it by yourself but with color films, you need to be precise and consistent with the chemical and bath temperature unlike with black and white when you can always have ranges.
Just in case you need some films, let me know.
I've considered processing my own films before but after much thought, I decided I should just send it to a lab and be done with it after an hour of window shopping. Besides, I prefer to work with the colors digitally. Much easier that way.
Thanks for the recommendations Ian! I'll be sure to holler when I need 'em.
