payter bitaw gydu to imo idea pre...it happened sa uk round 2005 wherein bands would jsut immediately set-up their instruments and mini- amps on parking lots, the subway, even outside sa supermarket and directly play.
ambot basin nganhe daghan dydu maba-toan ana nga style...

Yes, the money to make this happen must be astounding. When you get back the inspiration to make this happen, lemme know.

And aside from bars, naa poy mga radio stations who claim to "support" local artists. I think all these stations are crap - they only support bands who are "sikat" or "ilado na". They always preach and claim to "support" these small (GOOD) bands BUT during their so-called "local music segments", only the famous bands get played. And to think most of those bands already get airplay on regular slots on the station.

This also helps. Kung ma-obserbahan nato, word of mouth raman jud nagsalig ang mga Cebu bands. Luckily, nakatabang pod ang internet sa pag-balita ug promote about certain gigs or bands so murag "e-word of mouth" / "technological word of mouth" hehe.

Agree pod ko ninyo na kwarta/budget jud ang usa na issue kung magpa-gig. Struggle pod biya ang mga organizers (pero bilib ko nila kay kugi gihapon sila).

Regarding bars not paying the artists, though it should be implemented that they should pay the band but we can't always count on the bars to do this. And we can't fully blame them if they don't pay since dili man pod kaayo kusug PERME ang halin specially when it comes to much heavier type of music.
Take this example na akong nahibaw-an; na naa toy show na nag-promote ug "pay" for bands. Ang style kay naay voting system, kada tao na mutanaw sa gig maka-vote siya ug 1 ka banda and per vote na madawat sa banda naay equivalent na pay; so the more votes - the higher the money na madawat nila. Ang vote count sa akong nahibaw-an for one of those gigs kay: (6 bands participated) 1 band got 8 votes, 4 bands got 1 vote each, 1 band got no vote. Kung i-equate na, only 12 people went hehe...

    2. Di kaha ta bato-on sa mga tao as what artistdais1998 said? hehe
    3. If considering kita nata ug venue na okay (meaning dili ta bato-on hehe) - wala kahay mureklamo or tingai pa-adtu-an tag police nya pangayu-an na nuon tag permit hehehe

Pero in fairness bai, nindot jud ng "Unite artists" na idea. I think majority man sa mga banda diri sa Cebu ganahan ana pero kung sugdan na, manggawas na ang issues(?) hehe

its all about passion bai! do it.... just make sure not to quit your dayjob. its all about marketing your visions to sponsors, bar owners and picking the right bands. heck **** them sponsors and bar owners.... find a parking lots, warehouse, abandoned ofc. bldgs or anywhere.... bring back the underground..... home made flyers and posters... im not talking bout colored copies, im talking bout the cheap photocopies accross campuses. post them EVERYWHERE! internet also helps... if theres a will theres a way.

start small or start a "movement".... if you lead, others will follow.
