i'd been to sumilon last year and it was a very beautiful island. the island is rocky and topsoil is almost non-existent so barefoot walking is like treading on a bed of nails. only hardy plants grow on the rocky surface. although an islet, there's an inland lake at the eastern side where Bluewater resort is located. it was probably a lagoon but thru the tidal movement of the water around the island, it was now completely separated from the sea.

the coral is still great and the marine life is breathtaking for its a marine sanctuary. the shifting sandbar along the western side of the island is equally awesome. the turquoise blue water is wonderful.

the resort offers diving facilities and other water sports. the location of the resort is absolutely breathtaking where u can see the colorful tropical marine life below while lounging on their kiosks.

the resort is quite expensive that rivals the rate of shangri-la and plantation bay mactan because it has no competition. it is the only resort in the island. as of late (just recently), they charge P4,000+ a nite for accommodation only sans breakfast, use of facilities, or whatever inclusions u may fancy for that price. but it will go down to 3,000 during lean season, usually after summer.

sumilon i think is cebu's most beautiful island where u can savor the best of nature. it's uninhabited except the resort staff who are temporary residents of the island. i've been to malapascua and bantayan island, although both are also beautiful, they don't match the relative privacy of the sumilon island .

do the rates include land transfers from the city to oslob?

hala uy, i was there nov 2004. P700 raman amo gasto for the motorized boat we rented roundtrip na, for unlimited stay sa island... geez, mahal na noh?! twas P500 for day tour & P3300 last year during the holy week.
