Yup, Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro is very popular among college students and call center people, since it's the most accessible beach from Manila. It's difficult to go to the other beaches (like Anilao and Matabungkay in Batangas) if you don't have your own car.

Sure, Galera has good beaches and diving spots, but Cebu has way better ones! Even the beaches here are better! I don't know why anyone from the Visayas would want to go there when you've got all these great beaches, but... it's still a fun place. If anything else, go to Galera for the nightlife, not for diving or for the beach. The nightlife's rockin'! Hehe... A few years back, I LOVED Galera so much that I'd probably beat up anyone who talked about it the way I'm talking about it now , but that was before I moved to Cebu.

If I can't talk you out of it, here are the directions and some tips:
- ride a bus to Batangas Pier from Buendia (2 hrs)
- board a pump boat to White Beach (a scary 2-hour boat ride in shark-infested seas with huge waves - better travel in the morning)
- look for a cheap room*
- get a tattoo (henna or permanent )
- get a massage :mrgreen:
- at night: go to the bars on the beach and drink MINDORO SLING


* (don't forget to haggle! during peak season they can go as low as 400 or as high as 2,500 per night, but can accommodate 5 people) - we usually text Mang Jules at Buena Lynn 09174893630 ahead of time. They have apartment-type rooms if there's more of you, but it's about 30 meters from the beach.

Any info pa guys about puerto galera? planu mi muadto pero pareho mi 1st timers.. sayun ra ba ang paadto? bacg msaag nya mi.. Need your help guys.. And advice sad unsa mga nindot nga resorts or kstayhan ngadto.. nahan mn akong kuyog kanang duol sa shore gud.. anyway, hope naay murply, lubong na rba kaayo ni nga thread..

The best resort in Puerto White Beach if you want nice and quiet "CoCo Aroma" nice lagi ang cottage, japanese style, na pay hammock og porch.. then na sad siyay bar sa suod nga nice kaau reggae ang ila music pirmi.... tag 1,500 per day pero worth it...

sa uban na may mas barato.. kanang aircon.. pro way ambience..


namay tag 400 ra per day.. sa Lenly's pangitaun lang si Ate Rose,,

super nice ang puerto. party place! kasagaran mga college kids to yuppies ang crowd. affordable accomodations during the weekdays are cheaper by 50% on some lodges/resorts not more that 2t good for 4 na na. food is a bit expensive pero sulit ra, pero pwd mag sugba2x on some resorts. transpo from the city, mag bus lang along edsa to batangas pier then to white beach. daghan man mga locals na musugat to help you where u wanna stay. massage by the beach from the manangs na maglakaw2x.. a must try! perte! hope this helps
