Actually I have a first hand experience in this issue, since I work for a real estate company. One of my projects are encroached with "informal settlers a.k.a. squatters. This property whose adjacent lot is owned by the government is in Pampanga, so it was to my big surprise that during the negotiation with them they started talking in "code language" a.k.a. Bisaya. He he he. Tuo nila dili ko kasabot, so I just let them believe am Tagalog.
Can you imagine mga Bisdak naabot sa Pampanga? Anyway, this bunch of informal settlers in fairness to them hold jobs though I still can't understand why they would not strive to rent instead of bearing the indignity of squatting in someone else land. Out of the benevolence of the company, they were paid a reparation fee so they will demolish portions of their houses encroaching the company's property.
Next year, their houses will be completely demolished and they will be permanently relocated to a socialized housing village, payable in 30 years. According to them, gusto na sad nila ma relocate where they can start fresh on a land of their own.
Maayo unta ug matinood. On the otherhand there are really what you can call professional squatters. There are some comments wherein ang nag puyo daw sa mga socialized housing dili na katong gi hatagan sa yuta, well that is because some of them actually sell their rights and they will squat again.
For some short sighted reasons or siguro wais lang sila, they make squatting a business since they make money out of it. Sad, sad. Nya kinsa may ganahan mo tabang anang ingon anang klaseng tao, dili angay kaluy-an. Kawatan na, mangingilad pa.

mao na ang mga datu actually nga nagpahimulos sa unsa unta ang dapat gigahin sa gobyerno para sa less privileged. ang gobyerno sad gud wala man control. My suggestion is dili na sila hatagan ug individual titles, instead give them community-owned socialized housing communities para dili nila mapangwartahan
You just don't get it do you? This socialized housing which is actually approximately 40sqm lot with basic housing is given to these squatters by the government, payable in 30 years. Approximately they will have to pay about P200 a month to the government. It's that cheap, that's just P72,000. Di ba barato? Despite your claims of the government being corrupt, unjust and being anti poor, yes it can be very benevolent to its people. But you know what they do? Well squatters for lack of foresight or unsa ba, they sell their rights to this piece of land. Kinsa man nang sala? The government? For sure dili. Please remember the squatters don't even have the title to this lots since its not yet fully paid. It's payable in 30 years remember? They are selling their rights to what is generously given to them.Originally Posted by thadzonline
Even a community owned devt. would not work. Because essentially as it is now, the govt still owns these property yet they manage to "sell" what is not yet rightfully theirs. Don't tell me muhirit na sad ka, na various reasons like kawad-on they are "forced" to sell their govt. donated lots. Reason not accepted, if you are in your right mind, kung for the past 20 years your squatting on someone else land tapos karon gi hatagan na ka ug imong yuta for almost a penny, you wouldn't just give it for a measly P72,000 though I expect higher pa nga amount considering unsa ka mahal ang yuta karon. Some people are just plain lazy and they don't deserve help. Considering this help is coming from taxes that middle class taxpayers like me and rich businessman and executives are paying.
mao bitaw ko ingon ko nga supposedly mas mo work ang socialized housing nga community owned dili individually owned para dili na gyud unta mabaligya, but as what youve said, they will always find a way to sell it. Maybe one good example of the community owned socialized housing project model that could work is the Gawad Kalinga model kay dili sa individual ihatag ang title, so if they decide to sell it, they sell it back to the communityOriginally Posted by dothe102
Wala man ko nikontra sa imo gisulti and in fact gi confirm man gani nako imo statement about professional squatters..mao na sila ako gimean nga nagpahimulos sa dili unta angay nila pangwartahan
