nana may gi proposed Solar power plant, windmills, January 16, 2014 na bsahan nako sa freeman- Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III welcomed the plans to construct a solar power plant and windmills in the province.
I welcome this. Really, we need other sources of energy. Magsalig lang ta kanunay aning sa Leyte or kung asa pa nga nigamit og petroleum or uban pa. Maabot ang panahon mahurot ra gihapon na. So we need this alternative energy,” Davide told reporters.

“Parehas sa windmill tan-awon pa kung angay ba gyud. I also welcome that. Naa ta’y alternative source of power nga makatabang especially sa mountain barangays nga wa gyud na energize,” he said.

Officials from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) met with Davide yesterday and disclosed their proposal to put up a solar power project in the province.

JICA, however, has yet to present the details of the project.

“They (JICA officials) are going discuss the project further. I welcome that kay naa na tay new alternative source of power. We need other sources of energy aron di ta magsalig lang aning coal plants. No pollution,” Davide said.

On Tuesday, the Amihan Energy Corporation (AEC) also presented a proposal to construct windmills in the province that would generate a total power capacity of 200 megawatts.

The company is eyeing the barangays of Balamban and Toledo City and Sudlon II in Cebu City as sites for the projects.

The project needs 20,000 hectares of land and an investment of $200 million.

Once the project pushes through, AEC is optimistic that it would be operational in .

might as well focus first on waste to energy projects but include the possibility of solar energy source. It is a must that government opt to these alternative sources coz in few years, the increase in the cost for electrical consumption due to increase in rates will be very very high...imagine the increase from 20 yrs ago til now and 20 yrs from now, . how much will it be then? its directly proportional to the increase of petroleum rates..

wait. basin nag tuo mo wala nah waste ang solar plants. Since the sun doesn't always shone 24/7, they need HUUUUUUUGEEEE batteries to store energy as back-up in case the sun is out.

Ambot lang ninyo, pero I think naa gani uban nasud pwede ka mapriso if masakpan ka mo drain ug battery. Grabe ang toxic waste i-generate sah solar plant FYI tungod sah battery. so ayaw mo pag suya2x

nindot jud kaayo ni nga project if ma push trough diri sa pinas kay nagsalig ra jud ta sa fossil fuel... pero sad to say nga lisod ni ma implement kay mogamay ang sales sa mga power companies ug oil companies.. hehehe..
