At the very least, the call center industry is really a booming business in the country. Our talents and skills is really one of our prides. Maybe those foreign businesses are very much confident that our call center agents can handle with concern and care their clients.

More so, since call center people have higher salaries, they don't need to go abroad and be away from their families.

what they don't know is that call center agents are technically "underpaid" for the level of talent, intelligence and dynamism the job entails not to mention the pressure, odd working hours and emotional stress. and if you are to compute it further, the amount the BPO companies pay their workers is peanuts compared to their net profit. mura ug mga factory sa insik diha sa mandaue. that is pure exploitation in my book. just like a nike shirt that costs only a mere $ 0.90 cents to make and sells around $50-75 dollars.

i've always said that a call center is a modern day sweatshop. i don't know which is worse, that they are exploiting the relatively intelligent people or that these intelligent people are allowing it to happen to them because they "think" they don't have a choice. what a pathetic position to be in. but what can they do? this is the only job that pays higher compared to other industries.

it is not an issue of contentment, it is an issue of what is morally right.
There is no moral issue here bro when pertaining to business. Business is always business whether u like it or not. We can always talk general issues or specific issues regarding this topic. Also, employee-employer relationship is mutual benefit. that is why BPO's are coming here coz of the money savings and profit they get, at the same time creates jobs w/ above average salaries & benefits.

Why apply for a company when u cannot agree w/ their rates and other benefits in the first place? ngita nlng lain trabaho other than call centers...

I cannot agree more that the issue here is job contentment and the expensive "yuppie" lifestyle...

BASED ON TRIED & TESTED MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE - on the 1st yr on the job, yehey nana ko work! bahalag gmay sweldo...after 2 or 3 years, boring, kulang sweldo, blah,blah,blah...kng di na kaagwanta or di gani ma-promote, jump to another job dayon...and when personal responsibilities & obligations increase (like nana anak or asawa), less na ang nightlife & starbucks, no more pimpy ride, ngita pa jud sideline...LOL
