Posting for a friend whose nephew, Thirdei, is suffering from Biliary Atresia. He needs our help to raise funds for his liver transplant which is scheduled in the first quarter of 2014.





According to Medscape.com, Biliary Atresia is characterized by the disconuity of the extrahepatic biliary system which results to obstruction of bile flow. This occurs in newborn periods and this what happened to Thirdei, who suffers from isolated biliary atresia (in post natal form) which accounts for 65-90% of cases. This condition can be treated surgically through liver transplant.

So Thirdei needs to go undergo such medical procedure to help him live. However the expenses are way too steep and the family can't shoulder everything so they are asking for our help.
