new haswell i7 setup temperature issue

no to closed loop, especially those cheap ones. get air cooling, cm hyper series for price performance if appearance doesn't matter much.

I recently assisted a friend to buy a new pc. iya nahan is a fast pc na pang gaming then dugay pa mag need ug upgrade. then he said dako siya budget so i hooked him up with a haswell based na system with i7 procie... mao ni ang specs.

i7 4770 haswell CPU
gigabyte h87m d3h MOBO
2x4gb crucial ballistix elite RAM
1 terabyte wd blue HDD
sapphire amd radeon 7790 1gb ddr5 GPU
silverstone strider essentials 500w PSU
cooler master k550 mid tower CASE
2x stock fan 1 intake 1 exhaust
1x generic fan exhaust top
1x silverstone fan with red led front intake

Ang issue is, at minimum load, ang cpu temp mu register sa core temp is @ 40 C, so murag ok ra since stock fan man gamit. pero amo gipa run ug prime 95 using small FFTs na stress test, ang temperature is at 80 C na at average then mu saka until 90 C or higher. wala pa nuon ni shutdown, pero alarming lang para nako. Normal rani siya for haswell? using stock fan? All bios settings were reset to default. no overclocking was made or any tweaks.

Unsa inyo mga inputs/advice/comments/suggestions ani sir/mam/ate/kuya?

Screenshots below. If ma notice ninyo nag downclock siya at minimum na cpu load. then pag 100% ni saka na iya cpu frequency.

Minimum load:


at 100% load prime 95 small FFTs (ingon ako friend 2 hours daw niya gipa run ang prime 95 not sure kay wala ko sa ila pag test ako ra gipa test sa iya.)

His processor has got a low vid so i think those temps especially the idle are kinda off. 40C is ok, 46C is not. 90C P95 is possible though could be better. Old 45nm cpus dont even idle that hot. So before he spends unnecessarily, have him use other monitoring softwares like HWMon or Aida and replace the stock paste with performance TIM. If walay kausaban, i-rma na lang na.

puhon maka adto ko sa ila sir ako check if natarong bato taod ang cpu cooler. ako sabotan lng namo if unsa cooler niya kaaford ra to ang problema highprofile ang ram saup diay na ako gi butang ballistix elite diay to iya gamit kato taas. basin mag lisod mi sa space nya amo lang nya tanawn measurements. thanks sa input.

boss @werty, not sure if ok ra ba i was thinking of cooler master seidon xl 120. or katong silverstone na tundra single 120 gihapon. december pa to mu palit guro

if air cooler pud ok ra guro deep cool if wala mi makitan na cooler master.

well as ive seen sa mga forums.. ang 1150 nga mga cpu chip taas og temps due to sa thermal paste gi gamit sa intel bati..
ang thermal paste nga nag contact sa chip padong sa heat spreader sa cpu...
