The other night, the ABS-CBN News Channel came out with a video of Land Transportation Office Chief Virginia Torres sitting before a slot machine with legs up. The video has gone viral over the Internet.

Strangely, no newspaper came out yesterday as a follow up of the video labelling the LTO chief as “Casino Queen.”

This has made people wonder if the newspapers intentionally did not consider the video as newsworthy. Or did some people exert pressure on the editors not to print this story?

Santa Banana, it’s certainly news when a sub-Cabinet public official like Torres goes to a casino. There is an explicit prohibition for public officials to be seen in any casino. The penalty is immediate dismissal.

Torres, according to the television report, has denied her presence at the casino, claiming that she only sat down on one of the slot machines waiting for a friend.

So the video is lying?
