the reason for this is the result of our elections, even here in istorya, gamay ra gani ang nivote last election.

pero anyways, this is a healthy discussion here

    Shot!

But we can still admire China's meritocratic policy internally. Maka-believe jud, on how they handle industrialization and economy from Bicycles to Buicks, from Clay huts to Condominiums, the rest is thumbs down.

I hope you guys are not using socialism and communism interchangeably.

I agree that democracy is the superior political model, but the problem is democracy is very fragile. Fragile in that if you have voters who are susceptible to deception (like our country), then it will become a really big problem, really fast. You can have a meritocratic-philosophy enshrined in democracy. I think that would be a very good form of government, but it is difficult to attain and would demand a lot of discipline, and competence in the part of the leaders and voting constituents.

The economic model for socialism is actually pretty good in paper...granted that the state is actually looking out for the best interest of the people it governs, and in return the people strive for the state's interest and not just individual interests. I guess the only assertion is a country's political system is only as good as its people.

Mao(China) became a dictator...had most of the top positions filled by his circle of friends, and wife

the problem is not the government structure, but by those who run it :P

In North Korea, if you become a dictator, you should be born under a double rainbow and marked by the sight of a new star and a swallow in the sky. The clouds will be torn open and people should cry with rejoice.

This is one of the crazy things Communism wants you to believe or any related whacko-nutcrack theory they relate to.
