    Sa desktop AMD processor aren't really that complicated to understand.

    Richland ( socket FM2 ) are APUs. Good for entry level gaming without the need of a discrete gpu. Ang "K" at the end of each model name denotes an unlocked multiplier. The APUs are divided into sub-categories.

    A10 - quad-core

    A8 - quad-core with lesser graphics

    A6 - dual-core

    A4 - dual core with lesser graphics

    so basically, A10>A8>A6>A4.

    There are Athlon X4 APUs ( Trinity APUs with the graphics part disabled ) and you can apply the same naming rule sa Trinity.

    Sa naming convention, makita nimo asa mas slower based sa sa second digit sa model e.g A10-6800>A10-6700.

    Sa Vishera, sayon ghapon. All processors are unlocked. The number of cores can be determined sa first digit sa name e.g FX-4300 is quad core, FX-6300 is six core. So you can say vishera is divided into three sub categories. The quads, the hexa and the octa cores. Each sub category is ranked based sa third digit sa name e.g FX-6300 is a 3.5ghz hexa core, FX-6350 is a 4ghz hexa core so the latter is faster. Makita nimo ang generation sa 2nd digit sa name e.g FX-8120 is bulldozer while FX-8320 is piledriver.

    So in general the higher the name the better.

    AMD Opteron = Xeon = Server cpu

    AMD FX/Phenom = I series = Gaming Cpu
    FX 8000 series = 8 cores
    FX 6000 series = 6 cores
    Fx 4000 series = 4 cores

    Phenom II
    X6 = 6 cores
    X4 = 4 cores

    AMD APU = ?? = Entry gaming without dedicated gpu.
    Explained above.

    AMD Sempron = Celeron = Everyday Use.

    mas daghan pa ug processor ang AMD than intel.

    mas libog ug ngalan.

    intel TickTock roadmap indeed helps intel consumer choose the right procie for their needs

    BTW, mao nay usa sa sayop sa AMD even until now daghang kaayong name sa ilang processors. Instead, ila unta gi improve ang model sa ilang processor kaysa mag ilis ilis ug name daghan na hinoon maglibog. Unlike INTEL sa una pagka pilde sa P4 sa AMD Athlon socket A 462, they never change their name dayon, wa sila mag buhat pud ug grabe ka daghang lineup sa processors mao hari gihapon ang INTEL hehehe....

    this doesn't always apply to AMD one reason was bulldozer. because it was never an architecture improvement but coded from scatch and it was debated that phenom II was faster than bulldozer.

    and i was amazed!

    it easily trampled the intel Piii 550 ( HP Vectra na CPU + 256MB SDRAM PC133 ) in performance sa opis then.
