para naku, pwede ra ang cebu.
pero kulang pa in terms of infra.
ang dalan kitid kaayo.
gamay nga ulan, baha. nga isla man unta ang cebu.
matod pa sa ako uncle gikan canada, ang mga traval agency didto, ang ila package deal for phils is ila ginabaligya as "package deal for cebu, asia pacific"... kay kung "deal for philippines" ang ila dad.on, dili mahalin or gamay ra ang interesado.

usa sa rason nindot ang cebu
yes agree palawan have one of the best beaches and its good if you like pure relaxation.. pero mga taw na meet nako diri sa gawas, mas ganahan sila sa cebu, kay friendly daw ang mga taw, then beaches at day then party at night.. i dont know where you from so better make your place far more better than cebu so mag ka chance naman na maging front ng tourism campaign ng philippines..
transportation hub? i guess may tama ka, kasi after they visited cebu, they will go to their next destination =D
I'm from Iloilo and its actually one of the places who has bidden to host the APEC summit....Iloilo IS one of the major front of tourism, ever heard of DInagyang and Paraw Regatta?
from an economist's viewpoint, Cebu has a major port which Iloilo doesn't have, but we have more lands that can be used for agricultural means or manufacturing,
as for tourism, Cebu as the face of tourism isn't much like what tourism should be about, try imagining the USA making the Statue of Liberty or New York as the face of tourism, it disregards the other awesome places
the face of tourism should be the country itself...we are offering a whole tour package, which can be offered also in different subset packages(by this point, depending on the area or activity the are is known for, like surfing for CamSur )
aw, hindi pag tinikal diri toto..
toink iloilo compare to cebu? come on.. your dreaming toto.. yes its true, when you talk about iloilo - dinagyang will be next.. then what? i mean after dinagyang? lets do tinikal after? hahaha..
i been to iloilo several times, so hindi ka mag tinikal na mas nami sya sa cebu, sa diin ta ma ligo sa suba nyo kay wala gid ka tunga.. dont ever compare iloilo to cebu, iloilo dont even have major resorts par with shangrila or plantation bay
anyways, campaign for iloilo and i will campaign for cebu, next time indi pag tinikal diri
Cebu can make a good bid to host the APEC summit, but making us the face of Philippine tourism is silly.
Why Cebu only? For a country as small as the Philippines, nganung mag iya-iyahay man ang mga probinsya ug syudad? We're only about the same size as Arizona, it would be counterproductive to have a single small island/city/province as the face of Philippine tourism.
We grumble about Imperial Manila, but unsay gusto ninyo, Imperial Cebu nasad? That mentality has to change if we want to move forward.
Cebu doesn't even the best of this or the best of that--our charm lies in how we have a little bit of everything.
Bohol with their Chocolate Hills
Palawan with their Underground River
Or kato naay bulcan Mayon,
For me only these three can qualify as fave of tourism for our country since only these 3 places can offer a very unique world class attraction,
When I say world class attraction, I mean you can not find any of these wonders in any other place anywhere in our globe.
Iloilo and Cebu have their own distinct tourist attractions but in terms of infrastructure, hub connections, and hotel facilities, Cebu will win hands down. I'm in favor to make Cebu to be the premier face of our country's tourism as long as we exclude *** tourism to avoid negative image. The tourism industry is considered as one of our engine growth to propel our economy these years to come.
@wakwak dude...what part did I made "tikal"? I said and I quote "Iloilo IS one of the major front of tourism, ever heard of DInagyang and Paraw Regatta?",
which is just informing you that the festivals, (and I emphasize) are ONE OF THE major front of tourism in OUR COUNTRY,
I am also not comparing the tourism spots of the both places, I was comparing the economic value of the two as written
"from an economist's viewpoint, Cebu has a major port which Iloilo doesn't have, but we have more *flat/valley* lands that can be used for agricultural means or manufacturing,"
I stated both city's economic value and lapses in parallel to the upcoming APEC SUMMIT
as for tourism, I agree with @hobie on using for a front the world-class places that is only found in the Philippines or in a region,
besides the three he has given, I might add the Taal Volcano..hehe @Vundaboi so far Albay has gotten 10 of 63(?) spots for the APEC...with a backdrop of the Mayon Volcano nonetheless
OT: @wakwak you also said that Cebuanos are friendly? somehow your last response contradicts that...let's not be selfish egoistic douches here...I am not saying whose place is better, this kind of mentality is the reason why our country is still pretty much divided on issues...heck, I am not even familiar with the Tagalog-Cebuano feud until I moved here for college...(And is it me or people just don't know the difference of Tagalog and Filipino??)
