i don't know what's up with some people complaining about phones/gadgets being made of plastic?
they seem to have this silly and misinformed idea that metal is more durable than plastic

Sony Technology has been widely known for It's quality. Price may commensurate to it's durability and I agree with that. I have Sony-Erricson here and almost 4 years in use. Still in good condition and never replaced a new battery since I purchased this item. Same thing with my friends. That's why I keep coming back to any Sony Technology and more particular with their phone. The new Xperia Z was very promising considering it is a waterproof and has the latest Android OS, Jellybean, which is a good indication of reviving it's market share.
Xperia Z may have had shaped the future of smartphones to weatherproof.
Nindot ni xa nga phone. Sa mga nag reklamo nga non removable ang batt nya, its because lisod maghimo waterproof body unya daghan body parts pwede ma tangal2. its pretty impressive considering its features. G.incorporate pud sa sony ang uban nila technologies from other business units nila like bravia,walkman ug uban pa, which i think is a wise decision.![]()
in case you didn't notice, i said this
i've been using cellphones for more than 10 years already. i can't remember a time where i carelessly drop my phone into a swimming pool or an ocean. the only use i can find for a waterproof cellphone is if i get caught in the middle of the rain. and even then, i don't think you need a TOTAL water proof design just for it.
the shock proof might be the more useful specification but i don't think you need a non-removable battery just to design it. the only reason why you would like the battery non-removable is that if your phone drops, you won't see your battery flying out together with its back cover. some customers would freak out watching that. LOL.
but all i can say to that is PSSSHHHH. as long as your phone's body is made of good material (ie good material doesn't equate to metal, plastics can be stronger than metal for use in a cellphone's body) you can always put your battery back together with your cellphone again, not THAT hard
xperia ZZZ ..coming..
for 30-35k, i think i'll pass. let's wait for other major players to present their flagship phones then icompare nato ang specs. 440ppi + dust/waterproof + 5 inches display ang mauso karon tuiga klaro kaayo.
Because most of the time plastic feels "cheap" compared to metal. At times, plastic is more durable than metal.. looking at the IP4 and 5 user feedback its pretty easy to get some scuffs on the metalic parts.
@The battery life discussion
Take a look at the battery size and capacity of the Galaxy Note 2, it can fit in these latest 5" display 1080p phones, makes me wonder why other manufacturers didnt opt to go with a 3000mAH battery. The cost shouldnt be that much either, the original Note 2 battery is at P990 as per Samsung store.
iPhones proved a long time ago that smartphones don't need a removable battery.
Also, I don't know what everyone is talking about when they say Sony is "behind". they are only second to Samsung in Europe. in an open cellular market where most handsets are bought off contract, like Europe, people many times chosen Sony. However, when Sony has to cater to carriers in markets such as the US. they fall short.
