Although I didn't think this is a really excellent film, ang akong giganahan gyud aning salidaa is the fact nga ang different stories seemed to be interconnected very subtly nga you wouldn't think dili gyud cla connecte, pero if you think hard about it, daghan ang obvious connections.

Usa sa themes sa tibook movie is political kaayo and that is how society/government treats those who go beyond the norms. You can see this resounding throughout the different issues raised sa mga stories, for example:
racism - When a lawyer tries to defend the rights of a black slave (The Pacific Journal of Adam Ewing)
homophobia - Fearing the scandalous issue of a gay composer (Letters from Zedelghem)
geriatric treatment - Old ones are treated in society by clumping them together in one place and inflicting stricter guidelines (The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish)
going against the future class system - The androids only exist to please customers (Sonmi 451)

Wa ko kabasa sa libro pero I think the editing and directing choices to use the same actors for various characters in different stories worked well in driving home the theme nga everything is connected.

For example, in a particular scene in the past the character escapes from the enemies and cut to the future, the same thing happens to a different character. Or that whatever characters Halle Berry and Tom Hanks portray in whichever stories and time frame, they would always become attracted to each other. Or the illustration of karma through the transformation of Tom Hanks' character from someone who tries to poison a lawyer in the 1800s to extort wealth, to a savior of the humanity in 2321 Hawaii.

Then there's the Cloud Atlas composition that Frobisher created in the past which Luisa Rey was sure she knew (and she read the letters), and this was in the 70s. Later, in the 2000s, Henry Cavendish is reading a novel about Luisa Rey. Then in 2144, Doona Bae's character (Sonmi 451) watched a movie about Henry Cavendish which helped sparked her desire to revolt. Later on, in 2321 Sonmi 451 would be treated as a god by the inhabitants of future Hawaii. Dayon, napa tong birthmark nga murag shooting star nga present sa usa ka character in every story.

And this movie is so ambitious. It involves stories spanning generations that are thousands of years apart, continents, races, etc. It also has all common movie genres: adventure, comedy, thriller, sci-fi, love story.

Para nako this is a good movie that you can re-visit kay daghan paka ma pick-up nga mga connections but it will be a challenge kay taas2x salidaa.
