I'm pretty sure the U.S. have capabilities that are beyond that of spy planes. And they've probably monitored those waters for some time already. So spy planes would sorta be redundant unless it's a form of provocation.

the way i see this, the pronouncement made by noynoy is to make the "on-going" spying of US legitimate.. legitimate in the sense that the philippine government is allowing them to..

no more, no less... this is sort of provocation, diplomatic and political posturing..

this is, i guess, part of the master plan of noynoy's administration to involve the US as much as possible..

obviously, the US can't publicly ask us, to let them join and come into picture, but for sure, back door talks.. they're pretty much excited to get involved..

AND REMEMBER, the purpose of this request for RECON is posturing.. take into consideration nga GUSTO GYUD SA PINAS MAKITA SA RADAR SA CHINA ang RECON planes... you know why? bcoz we are claiming nga ipa PATROL ni sa atong sovereign area including part of the West Philippine Sea..

If your that imaginative regarding UAV, DRONES, etc... it needs no legitimacy... onbviously, they are meant not to be seen.. and some SPYING were meant to be discovered.. it takes no expert to grasp this concept, bisan estambay sama nko, mka sabot..
