thanks Geeder for that info. where can I try it? me too im asthmatic, before I use Bricanyl Turbohaler. Sad to say, I was immune to that medicine. Several years ago they stop producing those, I dont know why or maybe it has a side effect. Right now I have a ventolin inhaler on my pocket, and I am maintaining Seretide. Luckily I haven't experienced any attack since last year, A colleague of mine suggested to visit his pulmonologist. The Pulmonologist then gives me some medication so that my lungs will be clean, then after that I began using seretide.
Hi. You can visit ZEN ZEST ( I do not know if I got the spelling right). They carry oils in their aromatherapy line. You just ask for those i listed in my article. Some oils are pretty strong so make sure that it is infused into a carrier oil.Originally Posted by jah
I posted some tips so you can try aromatherapy at home because if you try it in a spa, it can get pretty expensive. But if you know a place with reasonable prices, why not? I go to a shiatsu clinic (it's so affordable and no-frills) for a good swedish or shiatsu massage for Php200/hr. The essential oils don't feel or smell icky but they do have
aromatherapy oils for an extra Php50.
The fluid strokes just pump up my circulation, never mind that they ask you to be in your undies. The place is also clean and well-ventilated. But of course, I've gone to fancy places with matching Zen minimalist interiors and sauna but nothing beats the real thing. I feel so relaxed each session that I can't help but get a good night's sleep.
Another tip from my allergologist, have all your clothes in a cabinet and use pillows that are made of foam because even though we want to use pillows with natural fibers, these are the favorites of dust mites.
I have asthma attacks since highschool..there were even times that I missed class for 2 consecutive days because of it. In college, the long stairways and the rush of transferring from one room to the other (and unfortunately, sometimes, of great lengths: like from gym to the main bldg. top floor..whew!) aggravated my asthma..I would sometimes stop between floors/steps just to catch my breath and inhale my medicine...When I started working, my attacks are seldom..maybe bec. i don't rush often except for mornings...Dust, penetrating heat and strenuous activities are the main eliciting factors...
Haven't tried aromatherapy though...Been using ventolin inhaler since college and so far it helped calm my breathing whenever asthma attacks..I've become paranoid without it, hehe
klavel: we have the same situation, i can't leave the house without my inhaler even though 10 minutes rako mawala sa house, hehehhe
Dili ba mas mag lisud ug ginhawa if mag aromatherapy ka? Coz the scents are more heavy when inhaled compared air diba?
aromatherapy is not done full strength. a few drops of the appropriate oils to a steaming bowl of water is enough.Originally Posted by kris8jenn

like in my case, i am allergic to perfumes but am not allergic to menthol. however, i cannot assure you on that. are you allergic to the scent of oil of wintergreen? imo, if you are interested in finding things out for yourself, just make sure that you have your inhaler with you.
as for me, i still have to visit ZEnZest and ask if they have the oils ok for asthma. if not, maybe i'll just look around.
right now ghubak jud ko. sucks big time, i feel na mura kog gisilutan...d na patuo ug seretide n rotacaps.![]()
