If the less fortunate filipinos be given the opportunity to graduate theselves from borrowing from loan sharks and instead give them access to non-collateral loans, it will not only benefit their families but will also benefit their community since their purchasing power will be strengthen. kikita ang mga sari-sari stores, drug stores at kung ano ano pang establishments. criminal cases such as petty crimes (snatching, pick pockets et.al.) may be lessened because they now have a source of income.

I've heard that the government have release P900 million to fund microcredit programs for the poor. Pinoys can borrow P3,000 for his/her first loan under the supervision of DSWD with its project Self-Employment Assistance Kabuhayan. After slowly paying it back, he/she can avail of a bigger loan as much as P10,000-P25,000.

Here's another program to create jobs locally. One town-One Product Program, which was originally named as One town-One Product-One Million, was also proven to be an effective tool to help poor families especially in the countryside. There was a time when mayors were tasked to identify their towns most famous product then the national government allots P1 million for their residents to make use of it to promote this product. One of its objective is to eventually go export. Sa simula, sa karatig-probinsya muna, hanggang sa maialok sa iba pang mga lugar sa pinas, lalo na sa maynila, saka ieexport sa ibang bansa kapag napahiram pa ng GFIs ng mas malaking pondo. In the process, unti unti mangangailangan ng dagdag na tauhan. Mabibigyan ng trabaho ngayon ang iba pang mga residente doon.

A partnership between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Local Government Unit of Catbalogan is brewing for the One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) program of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Designed to create more jobs for the fishery sector, particularly fish drying, Catbalogan adopted Dried Fish Industry as the product to boost.

In a convergence planning held at the Waling-Waling Inn, Catbalogan, Mayor Coefredo Tekwa Uy said that a production center is to be built in Brgy. Payao, this town for the project. He added that the Php 500,000 comes from Congressman Catalino "Kata" Figueroa while his office will also supplement to finish off the project. Barangay Payao in turn donated the site where the production center will rise. One-Town-One Project is a project of the Arroyo Administration through DTI to promote entrepreneurship and create jobs.

Through OTOP the local chief executives take the lead in identifying, developing and promoting a special product with competitive advantage. While it is true that Catbalogan has been engaged in this dried-fish business for the decades, the industry, says DTI has still to graduate from being a small time cottage industry employing traditional techniques to a more sophisticated enterprise with a global market. Catbalogan dried fish has already reached other place as pasalubong, but the plan is bent on a bigger and wider scale of production not only for national supply but international as well.

Samonte cited the Jiabong mussels which is a regional OTOP model. The lady director said that today, Jiabong canned mussels have reached Saipan. She has similar dreams for the Catbalogan dried fish. DTI noted that Catbalogan has a dedicated LGU; reliable raw material supply and market driven, the necessary elements for the project to sustain.

Presently, the partnership has focused into the erection of a production center to pass the sanitation aspect the Bureau of Food and Drug (BFAD) so require. Sanitation and proper handling is still wanting. With the combined commitment of the national agencies concerned and the LGU, dried fish from Catbalogan will be delivered in a new and branded package fit to enter the international market.

For me, i would suggest to have strict implementation of our law lang gyud. Prohibit rally especially in public places, dako kayu ni effect sa atong economy. Why? Tourism will dercrease, enterpreneur will not invest in our country, peso value will also decrease due to political crisis like karon. Mau ni immediate action dapat buhaton karon sa gov't.

I am wondering, if we're travelling abroad we can follow their rules ( law ) but when we come back here in our place, a simple rule we can't abide. Taka lang tag labay sa basura, sigeg rally, reklamo dinhi-reklamo didto, traffic violation etc.

Ang P'nas og na sakit pa, cancer.

Nothing will happen even if we can come up with the best plans to improve your economy if those who are supposed to be serving the PEOPLE OF THE COUNTRY are serving their own private agenda. Kick the OLD PEOPLE (TRAPO) out and BAN them from ever going back into office again, be it election or appointment and let the next generation take over and we might get somewhere...

If those "Veterans" as you would call them ever had a solution... the country would not be in this situation right now. True, that their "insights", if you call it that, can be valuable to the younger generation but they should wait to be asked for advise and not go around and make their own agenda as to minimize the chances of making the problem worse.
