I've already upgraded to FF v1.0.6, as a patch to a still unpatched Windows vulnerability.

u patched an MS bug using a FF fix. IE is the MS bug your talking about.

Seriously though, the biggest mistake that Microsoft made with IE was integrating it into the OS very tightly. Add ActiveX, the ill-conceived concept of Security Zones, and Windows' popularity.. voila: a recipe for disaster.
