kung dili ka mag install ug drivers mo restart ba cya or dili? kay kung dili, den basin dili sakto ang driver imong gigamit... naka sulay ko ani sauna, nga lahi nga driver akong nagamit, kutob ra jud tawn cya boot-up den restart dayon.... i isolate ang problem.... ang cd drivers ba jud nga kuyog sa imong mobo ang gigamit nimo?

Kato kausa sige restart ako PC, ako gitaud ang duha ka ground wala na ni restart.

I'll try to check the proc later. Hope doesn't have to take as long as 2 years to get it fixed. By then, this computer would be obsolete as those pre-pentium-computers. hehehe As for the memory, the mobo can hold upto 2Gb of RAM. So, I'm just maximizing the use of this mobo.

Nah... It'll run without the drivers installed. I've downloaded the lastest Forceware drivers straight from www.nvidia.com. Practically they use the same drivers for all of the GeForce GPUs, with the exception of the 8800GTX/GTS though. I also tried installing the drivers using the one that came along with the GPU, though still can't get it to reach the login screen.

Btw, tested the memories. So far it passed the Linux mem test (As Linux has a very strigent requirements from RAMs). Tried the single-memory-installation but still can't make it work. All I see are scrambled pixels on the screen just before it restarts. So we can rule out the RAMs then?

How about your PSU bro? Naa man uban Video cards nga naay minimum requirements para sa power supply niya if pila ka watts ang kinahanglan nga naka install.

I also have the same problem, I found that the culprit was the driver I installed for my video card. Tried to download another version of the driver and the problem was gone....it doesn't always follow that the newer the version of the driver no problem will be encountered. Try to download older version of the driver and see if it works. If it does, try the next newer version and so on. It is a very cumbersome process but with it you will know which version is working for your setup.

Hmm.... I'm using HEC Ace Power 480w. So far I've heard that it can even power up an SLI-configured gaming rig. So, i guess PSU can be ruled out? hehehe

That would really be a cumbersome process... But I'll try that if changing the mobo doesn't solve the problem.

Yeah... I've been suspecting the same thing... Hopefully the change of mobo might solve the problem cause I've just bought the last remaining socket 478 mobo within Cebu City.. hehehe Took me quite awhile just to find the right mobo for this computer.
