ok, almost all of us, to be politically correct! hahahaha...

what im trying to drive at is that the fall of the dollar means a lot of collapse for many countries like us... the continuing policy of US is disrupting all economies be it in Europe or Asia.... Domino effect.... If US will continue its current direction, dollar won't mean any $hit.... there are still a lot of implications if US will crumble like the Roman Empire....

Last I checked, Switzerland took a hit during the global recession. So your example is a moot point.

Anyway, Ron Paul's a staunch opponent of financial regulation. Funny, because it was the absence of regulation in the financial industry that put the US in the shithole it's in now. So now you have a pseudo-libertarian who wants to privatize everything, sell the highways, sell Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, privatize Social Security, sell the public schools and maybe even the USPS.

The bottom line is that in a deregulated market, which Paul supports, there would absolutely be no checks and balances to prevent corporations like AIG, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, etc. from going batshit crazy and manipulating credit default swaps and CDOs to make easy money. Oh wait, that's exactly what happened before the Great Recession!

And don't give me this BS about so-called free markets devoid of regulation. It's capitalism run amok. Why should a corporation like BP give a rat's ass about the environment? Why give a damn about working people 60 hours a week with no benefits?

And Obama being for show? That man passed more reform than Bush ever did in his 8 years of presidency. Still not enough though, because you still have the same turds holding key positions, Greenspan, Geithner, Bernanke just to name a few.
